Talk about putting the cart before the horse.
I was in Walmart last night and bought a 400 round tin of 22LR.
This morning I called my favorite gun shop and ordered a Smith & Wesson 317 Kit gun.
Can't wait, It should be in this week, Range report to follow.

I know what you mean. Last week, I ordered a stainless steel guide rod, an ISMI recoil spring, and the plastic plug that goes in the grip for a Glock 19. I bought the gun today.:D

You are sick, sick, sick people.
I am sure glad I have never done anything so silly.

(O.K. I might have purchased a holster or two, then bought the gun to fill it.
True story.)

Does that make me sick too? I sure hope so. :D

While in the process of closing the deal on my last handgun, I bought dies and components for it; before it had arrived at my FFL, I had a couple hundred rds of ammo for it. True, if shameful, story.
CG

PS--just lucky the family can't tell .38 from .45, 'cause they haven't seen the new gun, don't realize I'm loading different ammo, and aren't likely to for a good long while ;)

Naw, not sick.. Just logistical..

:D

You are going to need both, so what if you bought the cheeze before you had a baked potato? It all goes to the same place...

There are more than a couple of guys on the smith-wesson forum who have bought older boxes that are marked with the gun model, and then looked for a gun that fits the box

I have a 4 cavity Keith mold, sizer die, top punch, sizer, brass, dies, shellholder, plastic ammo boxes, case and NO 44 magnum. I have bought all this stuff in preperation for finding the right (29-2 or older) Model 29, AND helped justify it all with the pipe dream that I might find a M24 3" that will use most of the same components. A 29 Classic might get me to bring out my wallet but it is the only newer gun I want .

I had 3 molds, sizer die, punches, over 4000 bullets already cast, a holster, 3000-38 special brass, 1000-357 magnum brass, dies, conversion kits, 2000 rounds of 38 special 158 LSWC ammo, 1000 38's with 125 JHP, 500 magnums with 125 jacketed, cases, ammo boxes, Lewis Lead remover, cleaning kits and on and on before I found my M19 here just recently. I had been without a 357 for way too long and built my stock up as I found things in preperation for buying it. I did buy several guns before the M19 that I had nothing at all for though:evil: .

I just call it prioritizing purchases and planning ahead  .

I had a T/C .41 mag. barrel and scope months before I found a frame!!:p

I bought a lightly-used set of Pachmayr grips in a store's bargain for $5. The box was marked S&W round butt K-frame however I didn't look that closely at the grips. When I got them home I discovered the grips were for a J-frame and I didn't own one.

That was then, this is now and those $5 dollar bargain bin grips look very nice on my Model 34-1. :D

Hey, I bought an M14 stock for $5.00 at the gun show last weekend, just 'cause I HAD to buy something! ( I own no other M14 part).

Its a sickness, I tell ya!:D
