I've sent my Regent 1911 off to get some work done and waiting on it just kills me its like being home sick without the home. I find myself laying awake at night wondering what its goin to look like and how well its goin to shoot. anybody suffer from this with theirs?

I ordered an STI Custom 1911 in April, my sickness came to an end on the 22nd of Sept. I was worth the wait, yours will be too, my wait was 5 months to the day.

I know how you feel. My wait time on my Nighthawk was 10 weeks and my wait time on my Springfield Custom Carry was 7 months!!! Waiting is hard but worth it.

I waited 10 weeks for my XCR...not a handgun, but still equally painful. Especially when the original wait time was supposed to be 2 weeks, then 2 more weeks, then 2 more, and so on.

You guys don't know what a wait is. The rule of thumb used to be, take whatever the time quote is and double it...then be happy if it gets back early.

I have a Colt being built up in Ohio that has been gone more than two and a half years. The gunsmith called me last month and said it was almost ready and only had to go out to the refinisher.

I didn't even ask how long he would have it before I left it with him. When you want good work, you can't hurry it

two and a half years! hope you post pics when you get it back

I hope to, I even said I'd get (likely borrow) a Macro lens to take some pictures for his site. I also understand it is going to appear in a book he is working on...so it is actually quite exciting

That's not right, in my machine shop I sometimes make someone wait if they historically want to bicker on price, but if someone pays shop rate they are in line. If the line got that long I'd have stopped taking orders two and 1/3 years ago!

He has a day job to pay the bills, plus I told him not to hurry...I wanted it done to HIS satisfaction. He has studied under some Masters, I try to catch them on the way up.

I've been on another list, just to send the gun in, for over 6 years...but I know i'm in the top 10 now

Yea some of the top names you can end up getting put on a list that is waiting to get on the waiting list.

Are you on Chuck Rogers list by chance?
