Having a few hours before work today I attended an Eastman Gun show at the Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta, GA.
After the storms we had yesterday the weather was beautiful.
I did not have any specific plans to trade or purchase anything, mainly just to look. I did however bring along a couple of odds and ends guns. A single shot Boito 12ga shotgun and a Glenfield model 25, a .22RF bolt action rifle. Also brought along was all the odds and ends factory ammo that I no longer have guns for.
Browsing the show it was obvious that someone is enforcing the no more "Beef Jerky" seller rule. There were lots of dealers with would you believe it GUNS. Not that much ammo though.
Anyway I found a gun I had been wanting for quite a while, since the late 1980's to be specific. A Ruger Single Six in stainless steel with aprox 5" barrel. The gun looked in great condition, NRA Good to Excellent, and had both cylinders. Also included was a custom set of oversized wooden grips, the original grips and a Uncle Mikes Sidekick #5 belt holster. I basically told the guy what I had and wanted to trade straight across. With out question he said OK. No haggling no tryin' to get me to kick in some cash. Just a "Sure I'll trade you".
I was very happy to get what to me was a good deal. I'm sure the seller, who appeared to be a small dealer selling a lot of air soft guns along with other stuff was also satisfied with the deal.
So here I am doing my happy dance of joy not believing that I actually got a good deal at a gun show. Who knows, maybe one day there will be peace in the Middle East
Regards and Good Shooting,
Rob
