My dad always bought Fords (used, he never bought a new truck/car). One day a Chevy was in the driveway. 'What's up with that!?' 'Sometimes you just have to do the best with what you can get.' My 17 year old heart was taught an important lesson that day...
Applying for my CCW, I got advice from a cop friend who said the CCW gun he uses is a G26. So, last December I walked into the Dark Side and bought a striker fire handgun: it hurt me to do it...
Yesterday, I took my qualification test for that G26, my 1911, and my Sig P229 (in that order). To my surprise (I passed all three), I did better with the G26 than the Sig though I have a lot more time on the Sig than the Glock. (To be fair, the test was at the end of the day, I was tired, and I did pass after all with all 3...and, to be fair, 2 of my 'misses' with the Sig were 'quickfire from the ready' portion of the test--stupid me!).
Having 5 months with the baby Glock, I have had a change of heart: sometimes you do the best with what you got. Is it my favorite? No. I got a perfect score with my Kimber. But, I am no longer going to bad mouth Glock.
"When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways." 1 Corinthians 13:11
Enjoy and do the best with what you got.
