I took my Kimber 1911 Custom TLE-RL to the range again today. I put another 100 rounds of WWB through it without a flaw.

I read all these posts about how so and so's Kimber has FTF and FTE. Mine has now had 400 rounds through it without a single problem. I have used Kimber mags, Colt mags and my expensive Wilson mags without any problems. :D

I have had several 1911's that had problems, but not this one. Knock on Wood. I had two Springfield Armory 1911's that couldnt feed an entire mag without a FTF or FTE.

I feel guilty, anyone else?

Huge KNOCK ON WOOD! :uhoh:

My Kimber Custom Defender II has never missed a beat in over 1000 rounds. I bought it used so I have no idea how many rounds have gone thru it. Never had a problem. :D

Kimber 17HM2

Bought a new one for the Wife 3-months ago,,bragged about it to her, went to the range... 3 mags, 80% FTE.

Boy was I hot........... :cuss: :cuss:

Sent it back to Factory, they replaced barrel & spring...It still sits in the safe..

Cheers...............

I hope your luck continues. I'm afraid that 400 rounds is not really a true reliability test. I have a Springfield full size 1911 that went over 3000 rounds without a problem. Now the FTF problem just won't go away. My Springfield Champion has done fine for the first 1500 or so rounds.

Those inherent problems are probably why the 1911s sit on the shelf more and the XDs go to the range! :D
