As far as prints go, you would easily be able to establish an ala by because chances are, you are far away when that guy commits the crime.

The 1911 is great! I have shot them before and I love them. I am waiting for my handgun license, so once that gets here, I am out to get a 1911 and a few pre-election toys.

Be a torch bearer if you want, but you can't have mine. My daughters have strict instructions, Dad is to be buried with his .45 and bowie knife. I don't know where I'm going, but I want both hands full when I get there.

Sadly, my only experience with handguns lies on the polymer styles of 9mm Glocks and my XD.45

Wash your hands well before touching a 1911. ;)

Look around, and see if you can find a used Colt or a used Kimber pre Series II. Both are good. To me, I'd just as soon have the Kimber pre Series II. Those were some sound 1911's.

I would go with Smith and Wesson in the price range you stated; I prefer Colt A1

I own a Springfield, S&W, and two Colt M1911A1 (one is a cutom made; use it mostly for display). In the price range you stated, I would go for S&W. Good gun to buy, a 1911. Good luck man.
