I ordered most of the parts last February. The last thing to arrive was the upper, which came in last week one day after my birthday (woulda been on my birthday, but they needed a signature...)

First, I had to promise my 12-year-old daughter that I wouldn't put it together without her... then life came in the way...

I finally had a chance to sit the girl and the parts down at the dinner table yesterday afternoon, and put it all together:

RRA 16" SS mid-length upper, Cav Arms Coyote Brown handguard and buttstock, Pmags and MIAD in FDE. Ammo should be in this week. Can't wait to go try her out!

i love that title on the side is that custom engraving?

That's a laser engraving of a drawing I put together. The lower is from Anvil Arms - they'll engrave just about anything you want for free (for a single setup - there's something like a $10 charge for each additional setup).

On yours, is that a Magpul stock? How much better is it than the regular carbine stock? In terms of shootability, that is... I don't have the cash to lay out for all the fun toys (like suppressors and such)... matter of fact, I'll probably have to wait until Christmas and hope Santa brings me a light and rail to mount it to... but it's always good to have a list of stuff you want, just in case a little extra cash comes your way.

it is actually made by VLTOR industries. it is the collapsible modstock

its an excellent piece of gear! as you can already see that build is more of a plinker/mid range shooter. (unlike my current retro build) so The cheekweld allows for a more stable shooting platform. That helps to increase accuracy, but its also alot more comfortable than the standard stocks.

if you havent already noticed, the standard collapsible stocks tend to jiggle, ALOT! this is almost non existent in the vltor. it is a quieter, more stable, more comfortable stock overall.

Man, you got your daughter a much better LEGO set than we had when I was a kid. I like your style! :D

Nice build.

Nice build.

That night, we were shooting her air rifle out in the backyard, and she asked, "Dad, why don't you bring YOUR new rifle out and we can shoot that, too?!"

"Umm.... 'cause we live in the city, and that one's not a pellet gun?"

She's learning - slowly but surely. Despite what her Mom says about not wanting her to be a tomboy...
