I can't figure out what rifle the soldier is using.I appears to be a Galil. I also wonder where the "passenger" on the barrel came from. It appears to be a macaque of some kind. I assume this is from Israel.

Maybe this is a soldier's pet.

He fires that Galil w/ barrel monkey sitting there and that monkey will certainly be dancing.

At first glance I thought that the monkey would make it as a top appointee for the US Internal Revenue Service.
At least we can believe that the monkey actually knows nothing when called to Testify before Congress.

I just took Anthropology 101 and got a B. That looks like a "platyrrhine", or New World monkey. So I'm gonna guess that's a Nicaraguan, Sandinista, or some other banana republic soldier.

That's a squirrel monkey, a new world primate. Galil variants are used all over central / south America, so this could be Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, El Salvador, who knows? Id of the camo pattern on the uniform might help.

Actually that's a brass catcher for the Galil, the monkey immediatly jumps off of the barrel to pick up brass and stuffs it in the soldier's pockets :p Very High-Tech!
