Anybody have a small safe inlet into the wall of a closet, etc? I just bought a small safe from Harbor Freight and installed into the wall of my bedroom closet. It is going to work out very nicely.
My issue was having to haul a gun across the house from my den to the bedroom at night, then back to the safe in the morning -- every day. It just sucked and I have been doing it for years. Also, when guests are over, or kids staying over with my daughter, I did not like have to navigate the house with a firearm. This small safe sunk into the wall allows me to keep a couple handguns, a couple knives, a few speed loaders and magazines a holster and a surefire light right in the bedroom. It is just so much easier and more convenient and private! I like it so much I am going to purchase another one and put it into the closet so I can keep my defensive ammo in it.
The brand of Bunker Hill Safes.
The SKU is 95041.
Shipping weight is 19lbs.

Regards to all.

Yes, it is a key box. I don't know how to do the photos but if you send me an email address I can send you a photo or two that you can post here. [email protected]

lawboy,

I have a question, if you don't mind. Does the "Emergency key override" use an actual key cut for tumblers or is it just an odd-shaped hex-wrench type of thing?

Car Knocker, the safe uses an actual key cut for tumblers.
Two keys are included. The keys are numbered to the locks. I have two of the safes now and the keys do not interchange.

Thanks sonyman74. The date stamp on the photos is wrong, I took them yesterday. The light is mounted in the closet above the door header. The emergency keyed lock is behind the little panel between the knob and keypad. Still working on the trim for the second unit. So far I like them a lot.

lawboy, thanks for the response about the emergency keys. A couple more questions: does the key pad light up and does it "beep" when the combination is entered?

Lawboy:

What is the attatchment method? How is it secured to the wall? Seems like it might be too narrow to effectively attatch to studs on both sides...

It is bolted into the studs on both sides.
It is too narrow to reach but if you bolt a section of 2x4 to one of the studs then it is a perfect fit. Basically, you shim one side.
