Well after taking my training course, turning 21, buying my pistol, buying a holster, and applying for the permit. I finally recieved my permit in the mail. It actually came a week after I applied. I can't carry at my college or at my work so I've only had a few armed outings. It's been kinda nerve racking since I'm not over the feeling that everyone knows i'm armed, but it's starting to wear off. Here's a picture of my setup, sorry that it's kinda fuzzy. It's an HK P2000 .40 and a Left Handed IWB Done Hume Holster.

Nice, congrats!

You'll overcome the feeling that everyone around you knows that you are armed in no time, I think many people go through that.

Wow! Only a week wait:D Congrats, the "eveyones looking at my gun" feeling will go away. The biggest thing is having a comfortable rig, and not always adjusting it. I've never been made, or have I been able to spot someone with a gun, just go about your normal bussiness, and try to forget your armed.

It took me a couple of months to become used to the feel of the extra weight. Now, when I don't carry (at work) I feel naked.

It will wear off (The feeling)... so will your TRAINING.

Stay proficient so that if you need it, you aren't worried about having a good showing...

I signed up for my concealed weapons permit around a month ago, took the class at the tampa gun show and everything. They said it would take 3 months for them to contact you or send the permit. 1 week is an awsome deal, CONGRATS! Cant wait to get mine!

i got mine earlier this summer, make sure you get the electronic finger printing if your doing it in florida, it took three weeks from when i sent in the app to get my permit. btw congrats and yea im still definitely not over the feeling that people are looking at me either, and im also in the same boat as far as not being able to carry on campus :( , which is where most of my day is spent

Heck after 4 plus years I still at least try to make sure I am not blowing concealment when I stand up or sit down... Congrats! Welcome to the club!

Congrats. Welcome to the CCW world.

I've had my CCW for just over a year now and I still feel that way. Although, it seems as time goes by, it gets a bit easier everyday.

Depending on wardrobe, I'll carry either an HK .45 USP compact tactical in a Kramer IWB holster on my right side or a Seecamp .32 in my front right pocket in a pocket holster.

Yeah I was super surprised to see a letter in the mail from the sheriff only a week after I submitted for it. They said it would take about 30 days and from what i've heard 30 days is pretty standard in my county.

I just got my permit here in Thurston county, Washington. It took thirty days. What's funny is on the the permit papers it has when the background check was done, and it was a week after I submitted the application. So, they waited until the thirty days were almost up before they sent it out to me.

I hear it all depends on the Sheriff in your county. I read an article in the paper here about a Sheriff in Idaho. He is very pro 2nd Amendment and get's the permits out to people in a few days.

Congrats. As others have said, that weird "I'm carrying a gun" feeling goes away after a little while. I feel naked when I go out without mine now.

Damn One week

I've been waiting 6 weeks so far here in CT:banghead: I'm going crazy...congrads I hope to be joining you soon ;)
