I got my Walther P88!

I ended up paying the full $850 plus tax so it came out to about $900 when all was said and done. The gun was on consignment so there was now way to negotiate the price. Still I think I got a pretty decent deal, especially considering it's condition.

I think you could turn around and sell it on GB for a $300-400 profit tomorrow.

BTW you will LOVE shooting it! I own 2 SIGs and my buddies P88's are easily their equals!

FWIW:

As you know the Walther P88 has the rep as one of the absolute best 9mm pistols ever made..

Congratulations on getting one!

Best Wishes,

Jesse

If you would like a pdf copy of the P88 manual, let me know and I will send it to you.

That's a most-excellent buy on a most-excellent gun; congratulations on the good score. The P88 is one of the finest handguns ever devised. If you've never fired one or handled one, you owe it to yourself to borrow one, rent one, or otherwise get your hands on one and spend a day at the range with it. The P88 is a real treat.

Had a chance to take it out to the range today! I only had a little time so I put a hundred rounds through it but I have to say every round was pure bliss:)

The gun is accurate, comfortable and very enjoyable to shoot. The trigger is great, feels like a custom trigger job but I'm sure it's stock. The recoil is very manageable and it's very easy to stay on target and make accurate follow-up shots even when firing rapidly.

This is definitely the perfect companion to my custom Browning High Power and I can understand now why people rate this gun so highly. After my first dozen or so rounds down range I had one of those "where have been all my life" moments:D

This gun was certainly worth what I paid for it and I can tell you now that it has earned a permanent place in my gun collection.

Exotic and expensive, but they are superbly well made and
accurate.

My new P88

Just bought one in box in like-new condition for $875 a couple weeks ago. It is so untouched I don't want to shoot it! But I think that it is the last of the great Walthers. Not impressed with the Walther P99, PSP (ugly!) and plastic P22. I have a P5 that is pretty as well. My weakness is Walthers and you have done well for yourself getting one. They aren't made anymore and look to be the near-perfect small arm. Nice job.

I actually think the price has come down on these

I have one unfired NIB; paid $1100. Have another I paid $850 for. Have to agree they are absolutely wonderful pistols.

I have seen a few at the Wannamaker Gun show over the last couple of years going between $800-$1000.00

Is there somewhere where I can get a brief background lesson on this gun? It looks cool, but I know nothing about it or how it functions.
