I have carried a Glock 19 at work for many, many years. I also used to carry a Glock 26 as a back-up pistol. Both of those were GI guns though, and I never owned one of my own, that is until yesterday when my new Glock 26 arrived at my office via Fed-Ex direct from Glock.

I waited until tonight to open the box to check it out. I figured I'd do it at home, when relaxed, and not in any sort of a hurry. I was pleased with what I saw when I checked it over. Fit and finish seems good, everthing seems to be there, and a function check went well. I gave it a good cleaning, and now it is ready for a range trip tomorrow along with 500 rounds of 115 grain Speer Gold Dot ammunition. If this one is as good a shooter as the one I used to carry on my job I will be pleased as pleased can be since I shot better with that one than I usually did with my issued Glock 19.

As for this one, I got it with the Tritium Night Sights, and the 5.5 pound trigger pull (what a difference from the 8 pound pull on my GI gun). I'll be using it as a back-up pistol for work, and as an off duty carry; and after the end of next year as my primary carry in my retirement years - at least until I get something I like better.

All the best,
Glenn B

Congrats on the new G26.

In my still ongoing, and yet unfilled search for another carry pistol, I believe the G26 is also drawing me in.

Haven't quite made up my mind yet, but I'm close.

Here in Florida, I'm strictly a pocket carry type of fellow, and 95% of the time you will find me in baggy cargo shorts.

In the pocket is either a J-frame or a PPK sized .380, but I'm looking for more, caliber wise.

So far I've looked at, and "pocket tested", the Kahr PM line, the Kel-Tec P-11, the Walther PPS and the G-26.

The G26 is thicker than the others, but it fits my hand well.

Man....I just wish Glock made a 26 single stack....

All of us Glockers have been wanting one for years now.

Congratulations! My first Glock (and only for now) is also a subcompact, but mine is a 27, and I also shoot mine very well. Better than most of my guns, unfortunately. Doesn't live up to its little belly gun look, it is plenty sufficient beyond any ordinary defense range.

Im really not a fan of the old "combat tupperware" HOWEVER those subcompact glocks are a pretty tight package. Grats on the new "piece".

Just like SureThing said, I wish Glock would make a single stack subcompact pistol. I think it would sell very well, and would be nice and flat for carry.

Thanks for the pic. Brings back memories. I traded my 26 for a 36 last month. I'm not at all disappointed in the 36; just wish that I could have afforded to keep the 26 also. Oh well, my goal is to get a 27 some time next year when my wife cools down.

Strang how 1/2" shorter length, 3/4" shorter height, and 3 oz in weight makes for an entirely different feel.

And in .45 it's only .140" difference in width between a G30 and a G36 yet the G36 feels like a whole different skinny pistol.

It's like magic.

+1 The G36 really feels like a miniature 9mm and could easily pass for a 9mm till one sees end of the barrel then its like :what:

Glock G26

Nice gun, just a thought, you might want to get a Pierce grip extension for it.
This really helps if you have big hands on the sub compact glocks

I've tried the Glocks with the extended mags, and while I'll admit that short grip feels funny, I shoot just as well with it as with an extended version. The extended grip also takes away from concealability. I am not concerned about that too much, but that is one of the reasons I got a 26 instead of a 19.

All the best,
GB

Nice G26. Count showed you the only thing better. :neener: I've been thinking of picking one up, but can't justify it since I have a 19 & 36. I personally like my 19 a lot, but carry the 36 more due to reduced size and being a .45.:D Good luck with it and enjoy shooting it.
