I find them ugly.. I even think a Glock is a better looking gun.. and I dont like grip safeties.. hell i dont like any safeties on a pistol. And they dont aim well for me.. when I bring them up, the front sight is naturally low, and i have to tilt the front up just to see the front sight.

you know, objectively, i like the idea of 1911's. they're single action, they have a grip safety, they (generally) use single stack magazines, they're heavy, and they have a good sight radius. unfortunately, i shoot them like crap. it's a shame.

Maybe 1911s are an acquired taste. I never wanted one until about 2 years ago and I've owned various guns for over 50 years. I didn't even like the 1911 I had to shoot way back when I was in the service. Now I'm addicted. I think JMB is worthy of sainthood for his creation. Oh, that's right - he WAS a Latter Day Saint. Just clowning around. I've noticed 1911s as well as Glocks can evoke some pretty strong emotions in shooters.
