I find them ugly.. I even think a Glock is a better looking gun.. and I dont like grip safeties.. hell i dont like any safeties on a pistol. And they dont aim well for me.. when I bring them up, the front sight is naturally low, and i have to tilt the front up just to see the front sight.

Then you have no soul. ;)

Just kidding- if it was made for everyone, we wouldn't have a billion other firearm makes and models. The spice of life and all that..

At least you know your tastes well, and knowing yourself is half the battle.

    Oh how very sad.

Thank you for sharing your deepest thoughts with us. I will say a prayer for you tonight that you might someday see the light.

However, to say that a Glock is a better looking gun....well I never....

Somebody has to buy those plastic double action pistolas, embrace front wheel drive, buy rap CDs, drive two-toned cars, and welcome expansion teams. Looks like we found our man, unless an Exorcism works...

    can of worms

oops! Looks like someone opened a can of worms! Hey maybe you could tell us all how much you love the 9mm over the .45 and get some more people fired up. No, on second thought I think that subject has been covered here a time or two with no winner declared.

you know, objectively, i like the idea of 1911's. they're single action, they have a grip safety, they (generally) use single stack magazines, they're heavy, and they have a good sight radius. unfortunately, i shoot them like crap. it's a shame.

thank god i've got a 357 that fits me perfectly :)

Maybe 1911s are an acquired taste. I never wanted one until about 2 years ago and I've owned various guns for over 50 years. I didn't even like the 1911 I had to shoot way back when I was in the service. Now I'm addicted. I think JMB is worthy of sainthood for his creation. Oh, that's right - he WAS a Latter Day Saint. Just clowning around. I've noticed 1911s as well as Glocks can evoke some pretty strong emotions in shooters.

Come now, don't Corvettes, Vipers, Porsches, Ferraris etc. ALL have FWD? I hear they're moving to polymer frames too! :what: This can't have a thing to do with the cost of manufacturing... :scrutiny:

Confession is the first step to contrition and recovery. You are well on your way! Next step, scrape that Kerry/Edwards off of your Volvo...

That's fine. Buy what you like. Nobody is forcing you to desire a 1911.

Your thread is pointless. You must have too much free time on your hands. I suggest volunteering in your community.

"unfortunately, i shoot them like crap. it's a shame."

Same here. I might as well leave the 1911s to people who can use them.
