Guys, sorry I haven't been around to administer the monthly match threads or to answer a few questions that some have had. As some of you know I am headed for Iraq on June 30 and will be there for a year. I will do my best to visit the site, lock a few posts, make some stickies, and in general be a bother to you all. ;) I'll also try to keep you guys updated on what is going on in my little part of the world. I hope you all have a VERY productive shooting season, and I plan to be shooting with you next year again. This is about the only "official" notice I'm going to give here at THR, so there you go. I'll catch you guys later.

Steve, we will miss your smiling face. :p Seriously keep your head down. Have fun, and be safe.

I'll try to keep the High Power guys in line while you are away. ;)

I hope all goes well Steve. Please keep us updated from time to time I think it would be very interesting to read how things are going from a bonified THR member.

Stay safe, and God Bless

Steve, That is super. Thank you for your service to our country. Stay alert, watch your back and be careful out there.

This is also the best excuse I've seen for not entering the Virtual Match for quite a while. :D

I'm no hero

Unlike the guys who are on the bottom rung and doing the worst job, I am going to be in a relatively cush position. Yes, I'll be living in a tent, but it's a supposedly air-conditioned tent with power hookups and supposedly a real bed. Possibly the perks of being in this kind of work for 11 years. I haven't been "real" military for many years, so that redoubles my "I'm no hero" claim. Just a guy making some money and helping out.

Just a guy making some money and helping out.

Which is a heck of a lot more than some of our elected officials and media types are doing.

God bless and watch six!

Steve - even the guys in the "cush" positions are considered the enemy by these crazy people (look at all the recent kidnappings/beheadings, along with many supply line attacks). You will be a combatant, in one way or another, and you are answering the call instead of shrinking from your duty. You going makes it so we that don't go can raise our children in greater safety and comfort.

That is why we thank you. If you were setting out to be a "hero" that automatically makes it so you cannot be one.

Good luck. Stay safe.

We look forward to hearing from you while there and celebrating your return.

I would guess you will probably be limiting yourself to magazine length rounds for a while, eh? :D

Stay Safe. Don't let ArmySon know you have an air conditioned tent. :D

- Gabe
