I imagine this would tic off some traditionalists..

Do you need to use a brace? Could you not just use a normal stock, assuming there are no state or local laws to run afoul of.

Yes, in fact I plan to use a stock. The brace will work also, but a stock would be better. This grip adapter is made for a CVA Scout pistol, which is a firearm that has the same receiver as the Optima pistol. A brace is legal on a scout, but isn't really needed for a muzzleloader like this.

Inlines are about expediency. If it improves function for you, have at it.

I'd guess it wouldn't be legal in ML season in my state.

My CVA Optima V2 pistol was just too hard to hold still without a rest, so, I did this. Great tree stand and woods gun now. FarrowTech makes the buffer tube adapter.

That’s okay but the grip could be made slightly less… ugly. I know, it’s functional but dang, a Magpul MOE or something like that…

That’s a similar setup to what was on my contender until all the hubbub about braces popped up. I can shoot that one with the buffer tube in my shoulder just fine so no real need for the “brace”.

I totally agree, but the guy that makes these does it on a 3D printer, and it's relatively plain looking. He originally made one for his military disabled friend who needed a strapped brace to shoot his Scout pistol. These guns are very front heavy. I just needed it for function, not looks. It actually feels pretty good, and way more stable with the stock, but it's still light weight and very portable. Now I'll be getting a single point sling adapter.

Well, I'm very much a traditionalist but I'm not "ticked-off", just sad.

This is another way to get around the rules, which will eventually cause the bureaucrats who make the rules (BATF) to change or tighten the rules. Then someone comes up with a new way to get around that rule...and the cycle continues until they just out-law everything.

Sad perspective. Any freedom or right you are in fear of exercising is a freedom or right you don't deserve anyway.

Rights aren't handed out to those who "deserve" them. They aren't earned and you can't buy them.

Actually that's not correct. If you are a felon, you may not deserve some rights. But a lawyer and enough $$ might help you get them back. Anyway, I'm not bending any rules. I'm just following the rules.

It needs a vertical fore grip, folding stock, and a red dot...

I thought of all that too, but it's not needed for what I was after. I just need to be able to stabilize it. I first tried looking for an Optima rifle stock, but the pistol is configured differently. The screw hole is in a different location. The only option I have, for now, is the one I used. There is a cheap folding coupler available, but I don't plan to stuff it in a pack or anything that would require it. And I prefer a good pistol scope to a red dot all day long.
