I just got a vintage Sheridan Blue Streak...

Nope, not alot to be done with those benjis besides shoot and enjoy. Few drops of pell gun oil now and again is pretty much it for maintenance. Availability of .20 ammo isnt great but there are aome very good options besides the standard benji/crosmans. Personally i always try jsb exacts, they are the most consistent pellets ive shot.

There are some power mods available for the benjis but the streaks are collectable, so id suggest enjoying the excellent stock rifle.
 
Remember to put a pump of air in it before storing to help the seals. I read at Pyramyd Air that JSB Diabolo Exact and Beeman Kodiak pellets work well in the Blue Streak (best and second best, respectively). Next in order of accuracy were Crosman Premiers then the Benjamin Cylindrical pellets. Pellets that did not perform well in the Blue Streak being tested were Beeman Field Target Specials , Beeman Crow-Magnums, Beeman H&N Match and Beeman Silver Bears.
 
Always put it away with one or two pumps in the pressure tube for storage, a well informed hint from Mach One Air guns. Keeps the seals fresh.
 
I bought a Sheridan Blue Streak back in the early 1960s. I killed rabbits and squirrels with that good rifle. But now it will no longer pump up, so I'm saddened it must stay a wall hanger. Anyone have an idea about what I can do at home to get it up and running? Also, is it really a collectible of sorts?
 
Ahhh, that name takes me back. When my father decided it was time for me to learn to shoot, a Blue Streak was what we started with, in the basement with a target trap. Once I could reliably hit a toothpick, I got a Crosman CO2 rifle for Christmas or my birthday or something. I'll have to ask him if he still has it next time I talk to him.
 
I have owned one for decades. It's extremely accurate. I don't remember if they all came with a Williams peep sight but mine has one.
 
John, does yours have the rocker safety? Those old rocker safety blue streaks are something else.
 
I was given a blue streak a few months ago. Looks to be in as new condition. Made in the mid. 70's, don't remember exact year but as collector it has a $150 value. 20cal./5mm, rocker safety.
 
Back in the 1970s my father bought a rocker safety Blue Streak. He was able to go through several at the gun store and pick the one with the nicest wood. It has some nice walnut on it. That rifle was one of the first I shot. I remember laying on the floor in our basement shooting it. He'd pump and load it, then hand me the rifle to shoot.

It was resealed a few years back and my younger brother now has it. I should go steal it. ;)

@frogfurr: The Williams peep wasn't standard, it was an option. Most came with an open rear sight.
