Cheese, with all due respect, I think you need to learn more about what is and is not spam, and internet memes generally.

I recommend a look at encyclopedia dramatica. I won't make that a clickable link, because an awful lot there really is quite disgusting and revolting.

I was being nice, and praising her and what she wrote.
 
Not everyone is into the culture of teh lulz, and despite being a practiced anon even I find that it was a silly title for the article in question, particularly given the audience at THR.

However, it was a good article.
 
Hmmm. You guys ever drop some internet jargon to someone (in real life) who doesn't have the foggiest clue what you're talking about?

I've caught myself making references to "mall ninjas", "epic fails", "pwnage", and other things that are better left typed and not spoken.

I end up getting looked at like I just got let out of the funny farm.

I will admit to having the term mall ninja become official lingo at work.
 
Epic fail:
when the failure is so dramatic that it makes history.
For example, a product titled the "DVD Rewinder".
A common example is from the show simpsons, when homer makes a bowl of cereal and it bursts into flames.

PWNage started out a long time ago as owned. As in "my victory over you was so great you now become my slave". For a while, pawned had the same general meaning but included that of expendability. In the last few years they have combined into PWNed.

Now if you will excuse me my LOLercopter awaits. I need to go read the original link and exclaim "im in ur base killin ur doods" and then follow up with "all your base are belong to us."

Yup, the silly title I put on that post definitely started it off on the wrong foot.

Which is a shame, as the blog post I referred to was quite rational and thoughtful and sympathetic to the RKBA.

Umm, what's a Pessoa? As old as I am, I admit to being always a year or two behind the cool and wonderful new things. Heck, this very computer upon which I am typing into to insert into the intartubez from is not only old enough to vote, but old enough to drink. With Win95!

P.s. Judging by the way it's been acting lately, it may well have been drinking.

You know, the original post wasn't so bad.

It actually pointed to a kinda cool article with some cool references.

You really could have, had you tried, stayed somewhere remotely near the original topic.

So, with that in mind, have a look through the new, improved thread list.

This one, unhappily, has gone over the cliff.
