I just won an auction for a Mauser ES340B,,,
It stock has been altered but the Mauser mark is clear,,,
And the metal of the gun is very fine so I can live with the stock.
The rifle will ship in a new hard case (probably an inexpensive Plano),,,
And with shipping and transfer fee I got it for a total of $322.45.
If the stock ever starts to bother me,,,
I'll just make a leather cheek piece/sleeve for it.
This rifle will satisfy my desire for a rimfire companion to my K-98,,,
At first I was all hot for an actual KKW military trainer,,,
But the thought of spending a grand or more,,,
Well, I would have if I had found one then,,,
But finally my better sense took hold.
I wanted a real shooter,,,
Not a display piece too valuable to fire.
So now all of my $1,000.00 of Wannenmacher's money is spent,,,
A new Ruger Mk-III and a Charter Arms Undercover revolver took 2/3's,,,
After this rifle I have $16.12 left out of the original $1,000.00 I had saved up.
What a fun few days this has been for me.
