Okay, before this thread gets firebombed, let me be clear: yes, they're cheap and plastic and not classically styled. They often need some tuning before they're ready for prime-time.
That said, Kel-Tec has a lot of clever weapons that could definitely find a place in my arsenal.
The P-3AT (and P32) is just ridiculously small. I can tuck it in the back pocket of my jeans, in the inside pocket of a sportcoat, or even (and yes, this is something I'm working on) inside a laptop. The NAA Mini-Revolver is smaller, but not as thin. You can even add a clip to it and stick it inside your waistband, or alternatively there are several solutions that allow one form or another of extremely discreet shoulder carry (including underneath a dress shirt). If your job has you wearing "business casual," this may be your best (and even only) option for on-person carry.
The SUB-2000 is a great complement for a wide range of pistols, including Glocks and Beretta 92s. It folds up and can be put in a backpack, briefcase, behind a truck seat, or even slung under a jacket. With the high-capacity mags it can be a powerful choice for those who want to use only one type of bullet and mag for both pistol and carbine.
The SU-16 is just as stowable as the SUB-2000, takes AR mags, is extremely light, and even comes with an (admittedly less-than-perfect) integrated bipod. Lighter than a Ruger, it's a decent back-up to your AR-15.
The PLR-16...well, it's something that I have to imagine will be regulated in the next gun ban. It's a "pistol" which takes AR mags, can be put wherever a SUB-2000 can be, and comes with an upper rail (and the easily purchased shroud includes a bottom rail). It's a great candidate for Class III upgrades, and I'd love to have one with a Grip-Pod and a silencer.
I like that the weapons have a lifetime warranty, that they're coming out with innovative "niche" firearms which do more than wink-and-nod at the law like sketchier manufacturers, and that they're Made in the USA.
Sorry to rave, but I'm just impressed with these and what you get for the price. My USPc is my first choice, but I'd be willing to trust my life to my Kel-Tec if it came down to it.
