I own 2 ruger speed sixes,9mm and 357 cal.both are stainless. Both are well balanced and have great triggers, not like some of the HEAVY goverment/lawyer triggers of today. The speed six IMHO is truely a well built pistol:)

I have a 4" Security 6 (blue) and a 4" GP-100 (Stainless). I would love to get my hands on a stainless speed six. For my money, you really can't beat a Ruger Revolver.

Yea I like 'em to! These are mine!

I my opinion the Sixes series is the best SA/DA revolver Ruger ever made.
Good luck with yours.

I'll agree with this. Back in the day, I owned several Rugers, both Speed and Security-Sixs. Good solid guns.

Since they stopped making them, nothing they've made, in a centerfire anyway, has interested me.

I own a Speed Six as well. I bought mine in Like New Condition with the original box for $240.00. I got it back in 2006. I think it was a smoking deal. I believe that it is the best ccw revolver going. It is also I believe the best built gun going. The six series by Ruger were the best guns they ever made. I would have to include the Redhawk in that grouping as well.
If you are a Ruger fan you would be hard pressed to get a better carry revolver then this.

Here's mine in 38 special:

The Tyler T really helps to fill out the grip frame for those to medium to large hands.

I really like it and its been the best 300 bucks I've spent on a firearm in a long time.

One of the best deals going on the used firearms market today.

I fully agree! Mine to is in .38 Spl. with Secret Service stocks in the above photo.

Best money I've spent on a six shooter and it is one of my very favorites. I made expert, IDPA, with that very gun.

I was about to purchase a new GP100 for $550, but stopped at a pawn shop on the way and found this for $290. I haven't looked back only forward... Now I want a 4" model.

The Ruger Speed Six was my first ever revolver...

Wish I still had it, but do plan on adding another to the collection...someday!

One of those "they don't make them like they used to" guns...

Blue Brick,

I have a 4 inch Service Six like yours. It has plain Ruger stocks and shoots dead on. Buffalo Bore makes a .38 load, 158gr SWCHP that will get OVER 1100 fps from your 4 inch barrel (it chrons out of my 2 2/3 speed six at 1100 fps!)

That makes your gun almost a full .357 and that's good enough.

The Ruger Six revolvers were, and are, great products. Unfortunately, Ruger saw fit to discontinue them.

I was lucky enough to buy a Ruger Service Six new in the box two years ago. Best $250 I spent on my gun hobby. It shoots Remington .357 125 gr JHP right where the sights are looking at 25 yards. I rounded the butt and installed Pachmayr finger groove grips. It is a hard combination to beat.
