Yesterday it was 50 and sunny here in SE MI. I had the day off so I packed up a Yugo I'd never fired and an AK that I had also not tried yet and headed to the gun club, knowing ahead of time that it would be busy. And I had the place all to myself when I got there. The mistake I made was I forgot to detour to the ammo locker on the way out so I was out there with only 100 rounds that was kicking around in the ammo can that I use for a range box. D@#&

Oh well, it was still fun I also had 100 rounds for the PT111 I was using for carry so I shot that up too.

While I have your attention, the Yugo shot fine but did not lock open when empty. Is that normal? I've been shooting Norinco SKSs for a long time and have never had that problem. I did not shoot too well, 3" group at 100yds was my best, but it was great to feel the rifle and smell the smell and...Oh you know what I mean.

My Romanian SKS does lock open after the last shot. 3" at 100 yards sure doesn't sound that bad to me for an SKS!

My Albanian SKS stays open on the last shot and I would agree that 3" at 100 yards is probably the best those rifles are going to get.

The bolt not holding open had never happened to my SKS, though I seem to remember hearing about it before. Also, 3" isn't bad for an SKS. They most often shoot "Minute of Pie Plate", rather than MOA. :D
