I picked up two Model 19's, a 4" and a 6" , at a local shop for $400 for both. The 6" is in excellent condition sporting a pair of wooden S&W combat grips and the 4" is VG with wooden S&W target grips. I got them both so cheap because the man told me the forcing cone on the 4" was cracked. I took a peek and it did appear to have a crack. Once I got them home and was able to closely inspect both , the crack turned out to be a very stubburn sliver of lead matted to the forcing cone. I am keeping the 6" in my safe and because I already have another 4" I will deligate my new purchace to "truck duty" (keeping it in a soft case of course ) Thank you men for your suggestions and the links you provided me.
