I am sitting here staring at $750 and do not have a clue what to do with it.

I was willing to put around $500 of it down on gaming stuff but gaming things aren't really that important to me and can easily wait... Summer is coming and I will likely be outdoors more that is why I am here.

I need advice. Here are some facts to help you:

I love 1911s. I want one. That is about all there is to say there. I want reliable and not one that looks like it came from 1911.

I do NOT have a CCW. That is a viable option for around $200.

I own a Glock 19. I don't want another Glock right now.

I have 9mm and .40S&W ammo. I don't really need ammo and will use that to get .45 if need be. I don't have a .40.

I am not opposed to slightly used but REQUIRE pictures.

In depth advice would be best as a PM as to not clutter the thread.

I like the $500 range but we can discuss up to $700. Lets leave room for tax.

I am legal, obviously, that probably isn't important but you never know anymore haha.

I am not against 9mm handguns. I don't care the caliber as long as it is above 9mm.

What would you do?

*Oh yeah, I can't pay for ANYTHING until Monday. My bank doesn't credit anything until then.*

On my limited knowledge, I would choose a springer 1911.

But keep in mind I am no expert, nor did I sleep at a holiday inn last night.:D

I considered them. I will look more into them now that you brought it up again. It was a tossup between CCW or another gun and I think another gun would be nice. Then put down some towards the CCW. That way I could get experience shooting.

A brand-new, out-of-the box Colt Government Model (O1911) will set you back $750 out the door in most places. I highly recommend ponying up the extra $50, or finding a used one (if you can). The quality is very good, it looks great, and it shoots well. Colt has been using a new grooved barrel design for almost 10 years now that greatly enhances reliability with non-ball ammo, and their new CNC machining techniques are producing great barrel/slide fit and excellent triggers right out of the box. If you want enhanced cc ability, the Commander (O4691) is worth looking at.

Good luck.
