Make me stop!!!!!

I just ordered a Rossi RS22 from my LGS as well as a box of Federal 22wmr ammo (for my Heritage) for $160 total. I'd been looking at it for a while, reading & watching reviews and for the price I just had to get it. It was the cheapest one probably because it is in grey which means it's gonna get rattle canned..... I hate grey, it's the new beige....... After buying the Heritage and Henry this was all I could afford, it's not a 10/22 but it's close or so most everyone says.

It's a Marlin M60 clone, not 10/22. (Correction Marlin M70).

Nothin wrong with that, I prefer the Marlin over the Ruger. Hopefully the magazines are based on the old 8-round blued design, the newer stainless 10-rounders are garbage, though they seem to run better if downloaded to 8.

Wonder if they copied the microgroove rifling too.....?

Hope you like it. Looks like a decent plinker.

I didn't mean it was a 10/22 copy simply that I wanted a 10/22 but my budget would only allow for the Rossi. I'm relatively new to .22s but over the last couple of years have picked up a few so I really have little idea as to what's out there, I never heard of the Marlin M60 before. My very first AR platform was the M&P 15-22 I bought a couple of years ago and I have have three .22lr handguns and the Henry and Heritage I just bought. The mags are all 10 rounds, steel but not stainless and as for the rifling I have no idea.

I would probably have that over a 1022 if all I was going to do is use it as a shooter, and not try stick parts on it.
It is basically a Marlin clone, standard rifling and the trigger / magazine assembly is less complicated and in my opinion a bit better.
If there's a downside to it, it's that the magazine stop is Just a plastic nub cast into the well and you can shove the magazines past them if you're being rough with it

It's very much like a Mossberg 702. Most parts interchange, including the magazine. The Rossi stock is MUCH better. It has shot 100% reliably. The mags are great.

Rossi has a wide variety of parts if you want to modify the gun a bit. Including a FDE Stock (or Pink?!?). I just noticed they added a threaded barrel for $50!
Rossi RS22 Parts

Accuracy is pretty good. Tech-sights for the Mossberg 702 Work: Tech Sights
Mine was good enough to hit a rifleman score at an Appleseed (though my 10/22 shot a bit better.) If you are going to shoot it with iron sights the Tech-sights have better accuracy as well as a huge increase in sight radius. Well worth it if you can afford it.

M-Carbo has a trigger spring kit that works. A little tricky to install, but doable. M-Carbo Springs

You made a good choice. It is a good bargain. The Henry will probably shoot straighter, but throw a sling on that, upgrade the irons and go find an Appleseed shoot near you.

Oh, and you just made me buy a barrel....

I'll keep those sights in mind but I literally just ordered this CVLife scope for $35. I have a few of their scopes and they are great with anything smaller than a 226. Haven't tried them on any larger caliber firearms and not sure they would hold up with something like a 308 but I never tried because I don't own a 308...... :p

I did order a pic riser just in case.

I think you have made a huge mistake! Everyone should own a .308! Just ask @.308 Norma !!
Enjoy your new 22lr and let use know how it shoots....

I would be interested in a range report. I love 22 magnums and don't own that one. Congratulations .

Picked it up earlier today, looks good so far. I didn't think about it at the time but stock 1" high scope rings are too tall, ordered a short set.

I think I will order the RB22M (22wmr) bolt action to compliment it's semi-auto brother.

Okay, the proper rings are installed, yes had to remove the rear sight and I rattle canned the stock. Initially I was going to do a flectarn pattern in these colors but decided I liked the stock done in this pattern. It doesn't show up as well in these pictures but the dark color is navy blue.
