I Just Pick Up a Super Red Hawk In 44 mag.
I wanted a 41 mag but I couldn't pass up the deal on this one.
Can anyone sugest some great aftermarket grips that may make the bite softer?
Thanks for your help!

I just purchased some Pachmayr Presentation grips for my new Ruger Redhawk. They made my S&W 629 very easy to shoot. I am hoping they will do the same for my Ruger Redhawk. I purchased mine at Midway USA just recently. I am sure they have stock for the Ruger Super Redhawk.

You might want to try the stock grips first, you might be surprised. I have a 454 that I bought used and it has Hogue grips,I believe and they don't help in reduceing the recoil and it's MagNaPorted to boot. Any grip that will fit the GP 100 should fit the SRH.

If you are buying the gun new, then they should already come with Hogue Tamer Grips, which I think are the best grips out there for this gun....as far as taming recoil. They should have a blue sorbothane insert in the back strap of the grip.

They should have a blue sorbothane insert in the back strap of the grip.
I have not seen this with the grip that came with my Ruger Redhawk.. Where can I order this piece? I'd like the hogue grips if they didn't leave the entire metal backstrap exposed. Maybe, if I don't like my Pachmayr's I will invest in a hogue grip that covers the entire grip area.

The OP said he bought a Super Red Hawk.

Evergreen, sounds like you have a regular Redhawk. Big difference. The Super Red Hawks have the same grip pegs as the GP100's, and the Hogue Grips with the Sorbothane fit the Super Red Hawk. Just checked the Ruger site, and it looks as though the Super Redhawk (non-Alaskan) comes with the regular Hogue Grips (not the tamer variety with the sorbothane). I have the Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan.....and these came with the Hogue Tamer Grips. I guess I assumed incorrectly that all Super Redhawks would come stock with them.

The Redhawks (non Super) have a different grip peg, and the only Hogue grips I have seen do have an exposed backstrap, and are not so comfortable.
