I'd bet your scope went 'code blue' on you! Something inside the scope more than likely gave up the ghost!
Try new optics, action screws torqued to the RIGHT specs as per Remington!
When you threw that thing against the barn, did the barrel get bent or the muzzle take a hit?
Rifles just don't start shooting bad from setting in the safe or cabinet, something went sour.
As the guys have mentioned...check all the screws, mounts and so on, nothing broken, cracked or loose...?
I have seen over tightened scope cap screws pop their heads off when a rifle was brought in from the cold and allowed to warm up to 70 or so degrees.
