Guys,

I have a fixed stock AK that I would like to mount a single point sling to for tactical matches. I saw a setup in SWAT magazine a month or two back but cant recall what it was.

Help me out. I want to order this ASAP. What single point sling do you guys recommend?

Let me second Spooky's recommendation.

That is the simplest option, and one of the less expensive.

Anything else would require a sling mounting point, either attached to the receiver somehow or screwed into the stock.

Could also look into Uncle Mike's flush mounted swivle mounts.

Drill a hole in the stock near the receiver to epoxy the mount in flush with the surface of the stock. Use the quick detach swivel (with sling) when you need a single point sling.

(They are cheaper at Midway and Brownells.)

I own and have used the Tactical Tailor single-point sling on both my AK(SAR-2) and my AR180B during two 2-day tactical-rifle courses...they work, and work well. The Frankensling and the BFG sling mentioned are quite similar to the TT sling, and should also serve well. FYI, I know and have trained with Yancey Harrington, the author of the SWAT Magazine article on AK accessories, and I trust his recommendations.
