I need the primer arm for a one of the original 3 stage lee turret presses. Mine got lost in the move and lee doesn't have any more. They tell me I need to replace the ram and get their new little lever primer things, but I would prefer to rock the old T lever. it looks like this http://www.midwayusa.com/product/117855/lee-3-hole-4-hole-turret-press-primer-arm

does anybody have one on their cardboard box of parts they will never use again because they upgraded their press but can't bear to throw perfectly good parts away?

If you know the Lee part number, you might find it on fleabay.
sorry, it's the best I have for you today.

Let me look, I have that press but never prime on it. I use the Lee hand primer. (old and new style) as soon as the sprinklers go off I will go check and see if I can find what came with my press.

Added picture, mine don't look like your picture, do you think they will work?
If so PM me.

Dudedog, the ones you show in your picture are the newer type, which, according to Greying22 require the use of the newer ram.

Hondo,
BDS had a mod for the normal disk.
You drill a hole in the side then thread in a bolt. I have done it and it works well.
It is here someplace with pics.

I don't know when you moved, but in my life "lost in the move" usually just means "misplaced". I bet you'll find it with some calm looking, not frantic digging and searching.

And don't ya love it when mfgs discontinue stuff and you can't get replacement parts anymore?

Another thought

Greyling22.

For what it's worth, my advice would be to consider dropping $100 on a new Classic Turret. I believe the upgrade is worth it.

The Lee Classic Turret and the older Lee Deluxe Turret operate in exactly the same manner except for the 3-hole disk vs the 4-hole disk.

Same speed, many of the same parts and same operating mode and technique.

But there are differences.

Durability: The Classic Turret's base is cast iron, the Deluxe is cast aluminum. Iron wears better than the softer metal, aluminum.

Ease of use: The Deluxe has a 1" smaller vertical opening than the Classic Turret. Though either is capable of taking rifle cartridges, the Classic Turret will take longer ones and if you have big hands is the clear winner.

Spent Primer Handling: The Deluxe drops primers out of a slot in the ram to fall into a cavity inside the press base. But only about 90% succeed in their intended journey. The Classic drops primers down the center of the hollow ram and into a clear plastic tube which can contain a few hundred primers or be directed into a receptacle of your choice. The difference in the behavior of the debris (products of combustion) from the spent primers is even more striking. With the Deluxe, you wind up with primer detritus all over and have to dismount the press and sweep up the pile of spent primers every several hundred rounds. So the Classic remains much cleaner.

More on Durability: The Deluxe ram is smaller in diameter than the Classic's ram. This gives a much different bearing surface for the ram to be guided as it moves up and down. The Classic press will last much longer because of the increased surface area and because iron is tougher than aluminum.

Even more on Durability: The Deluxe's linkage is aluminum and stampings. The Classic's linkage is more robust. I believe the leverage on both is the same. I have heard/read that current production Deluxe presses have the steel linkage similar to the Classic's.

In summary:

The Deluxe is aluminum, spills spent primers and has a slightly smaller opening (which you may find important when loading long cartridges or long bullets. Kempf's gun shop (online) assembles a kit containing the Classic Turret and does not force someone who already reloads to take other stuff you already have (except a set of dies and some cartridge boxes).

I think that's about it.

Yeah, I highly recommend an upgrade to the Classic Turret Press too! That's what I have, I gave my old Deluxe Turret Press to my brother back in '86 or so. The LCTP has served me well and will do anything I want it to. Much stronger press and the spent primer tube is far better.

I have a classic turret. It's great. This is for an older 3 hole turret press that I keep around because I like the 3 holes. For the calibers that don't need a 4th station, not having to pull the handle 1 extra time is nice.

Dudedog, I really appreciate the effort, and I wish it had been what I need. Oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles.

Rondog, I agree, it seems like it should turn up, but I have turned the place upside down 2x over the past 6 months. there are no more unopened boxes. It's gone. :(

Nah, it's not gone, it's just misplaced! Probably in with some other stuff it shouldn't be with. I find things all the time that I've searched for for years. The harder you look, the less likely you'll find it. Someday, you'll have an "oh hell, looky there!" moment. You'll find it when you're not looking for it.

greyling22 I have the part you need I do not know why I have it have never had a Lee Press send me your address and I will send it to you.

The "Turkey day miracle of 2014"!

Can't help with the priming arm, but the micro-disk is purported to be available from these folks

http://www.ezorchid.com/CustomCast/CustomCast.htm ...

But if there is one thing I got out of this thread was that here was a micro-disk aftermarket replacement from CustomCast. When loading .380 or .38 wadcutter (both of which I've struggled to get a consistent and accurate small charge), I think they would give a more precise load without having to weigh powder each and every round. I saw a similar micro-disk "replacement" on the popular auction site who's name I dare not say, but they looked to be of low quality with a semi-clear resin (even in the photo it looked cheap & we know how things always look better "in the picture"). It looks like CustomCast only takes payment via anti-gun PayPal.

greyling22 The part is on the way, You should have it on Monday according to the USPS.

The cat came back

You hear about miracles like this every once in a while. Family moves. The cat(or dog) gets left behind. Months later the animal shows up at the new house.

One miracle is that geryling22 and mh38sp found each other.

The REAL mystery/miracle is how that darned part went from greyling22's press into mh38sp's house in the first place. You two ever live near each other in the past?
