I've looked, searched, but can't find what I'm looking for.'

Brand new gun. Where's the starting point as far as adjusting sights. They've been moved (not the front sight) and need a starting point for windage and elevation.

Also, I have pretty unlimited range distances so I'm thinking zero in at 100 yards? What targets work best for this.

Thanks in advance.

try doing a google or thr search for "improved battle sight zero"

A 100 yard zero is a big waste of the flat shooting .223 cartridge.

You can sight in for a 200 yard zero and never have the bullet path above or below POA more then 3" out to around 250 yards.

With a 100 yard zero, you would be almost 6.0" low at 250 yards!

The Improved Battle Sight Zero will offer even a longer PBR on larger targets like people..

It all depends on what you want to hit.
3" tall varmints or 5' 5"' tall people.

I agree with the IBZ. Or even the RIBZ. But the IBZ 200m zero is a huge advantage of the 5.56 since POA and POI are within 2.5" from about 10-230 meters.

Edit:
If you decide to modify the elevation knob be aware that the A4 carry handle (6/3) uses 1/2 clicks unlike the full clicks on the fixed A2 carry handle (8/3).

My 6920's rear sight was set WAY up from the factory, gave me no end of confusion until a helpful range officer pointed out the problem.

find 36 yd bzo targets online.
flush out front sight to where there is no "step" between the FSB and the post itself
go all the way left on windage, count clicks all the way right. go back half way
rear elevation will be 8/3 for A2 rifles, and 6/3for carbines.
fire groups onto target until you hit black.
you are now zeroed for 300 yds. take rear elevation down two clicks for rifles, 3 for carbine for 100 yd shooting
enjoy your bzo. works for the marines, it'll work for you.
