Until I bought a Gen 5 Glock. The lack of finger grooves is much better. I love the grip. I think my Gen3 and Gen4 Glocks are gonna get a lot less range time.

I have both but prefer the grooves. I think they fit a particular range of hands and plenty don't fall into that group. I also like hogue grips with grooves, I put them on every 1911, sig, or beretta I get.

My hands seemed to fit the Glock grooves but at some point I decided to try removing them from one of my frames and I liked it enough that all of my carry glocks have had the grooves removed and I plan to modify the others as well.

I've never liked the finger grooves and most of my Glocks don't have them. I'm one of those where it doesn't exactly fit my hand. It's squashed on there as is is even without them.

I can deal with them and it's not a total deal breaker the way it is for a few, but if the option is there to not have it (using an old 2nd Gen, paying for stippling and removal on the 3rd and 4th Gens or just buying a 5th Gen) that's what I've gone with.

Removing the grooves was the best thing I ever did to Gen3 and Gen4 Glocks. Took some time to work up the nerve to start sanding and then stippling, but they turned out well enough...and now I’ve gone to the 19X.

Funny, turns out for the full size frame I DO like the grooves. Though my 19X is still my favorite Glock.

The only one that I didnt like the grooves on is the 19 frame, yet the half moon cutout on the 19 is even WORSE for my grip.

Ah well, I like bigger guns anyway.

To each his own. I have them with and without. I can't tell the difference when they are in my hand. Maybe they were built around someone who has hands and fingers the same exact size as me.

I bought a Gen 2 G17 new back in the day and I still own it. So I've had a non grooved Glock since I've owned Glocks. Finger grooves are and always have been a non issue to me with gen 3s. But that is me. My personal belief is there are certainly people that the grooves don't fit. Pretty hard to believe there would not be.

I have a Gen3 17 & 19, a Gen4 21 and a 19x. I can live with the finger grooves on the 17 & 21, since there is more room between the top groove and the bottom of the trigger guard, to prevent dreaded “G-Knuckle”. But the finger grooves work not so well for me on the Gen3 19, and I’m now seriously considering taking the finger grooves off this one, since there is no way I’d give this one up.

The 19x convinced me that I could live without the finger grooves from here on out, and we never really needed them to begin with.

One of the things I hated most about the glocks issued by the department I worked for. I could NEVER find a comfortable way to hold the damn thing.

Yes, the grip length on the G 17 is longer so the finger grooves are more widely spaced. I can live with those, although I don't own a G 17. It is pretty easy to remove the finger grooves on a Glock. A Dremel tool with sanding drums speeds things up, but you can just use sandpaper and an appropriate sized dowel rod to sand off the bumps and undercut the trigger guard. And all you need to do the stippling is an inexpensive wood burning tool.

Like I said before I own both and prefer the grooves, but no way my hands are average either. I have large basketball palming hands with skinny fingers, so if they fit me they certainly can't fit a large portion of people. The desert eagle/ large frame glocks/blocks and 96/usp/ (all often accused of being too large) fit me fine too. I can't shoot the pocket 380s or 9s at all though, just no where for my hands to go. I never really noticed the grooves being farther apart on any model, and I have all but the 19/23 size. I have undercut plenty of trigger guards though, easier on the knuckles.

The grooves on my gen 3 G34 really didn’t bother me but on my gen 3 G19 they drove me nuts. I sold them both but now kind of wish I would have kept the 34. I bought a 19X about 3 months ago and I really like it. Tempted to get a gen 5 G34.

I'm one of those weirdos who didn't TRULY appreciate Glocks until the Gen 3 models came out. Love me some finger grooves...

The grooves on the Glocks don't bother me nearly as much as the "thumb rest" bump. It might fit someone's hand, but not mine. My thumb doesn't want to be where the bump tries to force it, and if I try to ignore it I get sore spots.

> also like hogue grips with grooves,

I have one of those on one of my 1911s. It's seriously ugly. Even my wife jeered at it; "You're not going to leave that on there, are you?" But when I handed it to her she went, "Oooh, that's nice!" But we both agree it's industrial-grade ugly... <sigh>

I hated the grooves at first and contemplated removal. Over the years they kind of grew on me.
My wife just got a g5. I hate the grooves again!

Couldn't believe how they screwed up the Gen 5 with that stupid half moon when I picked up the Gen 5 19. Like you, I have no issue with the finger grooves on the larger Glock like my Gen 3 17 but the no finger groove 19X does feel better. I'll probably buy a Gen 5 19 if they wise up and get rid of that cutout, if not the M&P 2.0 Compact fills that same role quite well.

It looks like their new releases, 45, 17 and 19 MOS are all cutout free. Not sure if that means they actually listened to the complaints vis a vi cutout or something else

I love the finger grooves. Even put a Hogue grip on to make them bigger.

Just shows how different everyone is. I personally like them and think they fit my hand well. Personally the only gun that I've ever had that didn't fit my hand was the px4 Storm, hated the grip on that thing.
