What's with Glock finger grooves?

funny how people will debate Glock finger grooves ad nauseum [quote\]

That's actually a tribute to this extraordinary pistol. No bigger complaints, but complain we must :)

I have plenty of other objections to the Glock, it's just that this was something new to me. Now I do think the P30 finger grooves are done quite well - that gun fits me like the proverbial glove. But gloves are a consideration too, given the winters around here - the gun has to fit more than just a bare hand.

Guess it mostly depends on your hand size but I shot a Glock 19 a few times and decided to get one. A Gen 3 G19..... My hand feels real good on that grip but that's just me. I always tell people to get a gun that fits your hand well. It seems to help you hit things you aim at.

Grinding the finger grooves off my G34 actually made the gun more accurate in my hands.
Weird but true.

I have owned several gen 3 Glocks and one gen 4 G19. The finger grooves suck, especially on the 3rd gen G19. I was never going to own another Glock. I bought a 4th gen G19, because the grip felt much better than the 3rd gen. I soon sold it. Then I shot a gen 2 G19. Wow! Then a 2nd gen G17. Wow! Wow!

I now own a 2nd gen G19 and a 2nd G17. They have converted me into a Glockaholic. When it comes to finger grooves on a Glock, "Just Say No".

I have actually thought about matching a Gen 2 lower to a new upper, but never really investigated, so livin' with the grooves.

Have big hands fingers as well, one trick I learned was that grip tape like Talon that wrap around and goes in the grooves make them much more comfortable than you would expect. I guess it lifts the fingers out of the grooves enough to give some relief.

Some have said the subcompacts (27/26/33) have the same groove spacing as the compact models (19/23/32). Not really true, they oddly have the same groove spacing as the larger frame (17/22/31) models. Big fingered folk typically get along better with the full size and subcompacts than they do the compacts.

My 19 I removed the finger grooves on totally. My Gen 4 23 I did not want to go as extreme on so I basically undercut the trigger guard with dremel till it felt fairly comfy. Grooves gone totally still feels better to me though.
