I Never Thought This Would Happen!

ive looked at a few......

i cant think of a shooting im familiar with......

No disrespect, but having only "looked at a few" in one hour or 45 years hardly qualifies one as an expert on the subject.

If things like that interest you, you should study the shootouts during the Prohibition years. I find them very interesting and very telling.

One of my favorites is the Hawthorne Inn shooting. Good planning, great diversion, ample manpower, shotguns, sub-machine guns, handguns and a restaurant with around 60 people in it including Al Capone. The ultimate drive by shooting except for one thing.

Nothing wrong with that, as long as you can transition from a double-action with a decocker to a single-action with a thumb safety that has to be disengaged first.
That was a concern when I looked at that combination. I'm guessing the P938 would be a better companion to a 1911. That just might prevent me from buying the P938. I just might buy the Mk25 and use my current carry S&W M442 as a BUG. (although I would like ammo compatibility)

CAN WE PLEASE TRY TO STAY ON TOPIC AND NOT ARGUE ABOUT WHO KNOWS WHAT ABOUT SHOOTING MULTIPLE ASSAILANTS OVER THE PAST 45 YEARS!

I'm asking about pistols, nothing else so lets not degrade into another pissing contest. Lets talk about SIGs, M&Ps or a different set of pistols. Thank you all so far...

David e, i either investigated them or helped investigate them. I didnt read about them on the internet, BUT I WONT CLAIM TO BE AN EXPERT AT ALL.

AS FOR ARCHANGEL, CARRY WHAT YOU FEEL SUITS YOU, YOUR SITUATION, YOUR SKILL.....

Well, that's an important tidbit you left out!

ArchAngel, I cited the same concern about different manual of arms regarding the Sigs waaaay back at Post #5, which you ignored until Post #29 where you responded to someone else raising the same concern in Post #19.

I echo Jerry's advice: pick what you want.

Sounds like a pretty good plan....unless...

You wanted to go with a p229 instead.

A friend picked up a 938 about a month ago...what a sweet pistol.

I don't believe there actually IS a double action/single action semiauto that actually qualifies as 'compact' and is comparable to the SIG manual of arms. The SIG 239 or the Beretta 92 Compact are probably the closest, and they're both Glock 19+ size, for half the ammo in the former case.

So it might be pretty hard to find a matching backup gun to a P226. CZ makes some compact-ish DA/SA guns, though.

As for a Glock, the only way I would shoot a Glock is if it was the only gun available and the Zombies were within 10 feet of me!!
Sorry, I just do not like Glocks AT ALL...

Eh...
I can't disagree. The only reason I decided that Glocks are OK is because I was allowed to carry any handgun I wanted, as long as it was the issued Glock 35 and after 11 years, my newly issued Glock 22. Every two weeks a paycheck showed up, so, I couldn't really bitch too much about the gun.

Glocks are just kind of really good tools. But, thats really all they have going for them. If it needs to go bang with pretty good reliability, they do that well. Personality? Pretty much zero. Class? Not really. Ergonomics? Well, not really again.

So, I can't really fault you for wanting a personal gun that tickles your fancy a little more, I understand. And, you did qualify it with the whole zombie attacking thing, so, you kind of admit they generally work pretty well. :)

So first off you need a pat on the back for mentioning something first? I thought better of you.

Second, you are actually getting upset because I didn't want anyone arguing in a thread I started? (along with Jerry)

I can't believe this is happening again! I rarely start a thread because crap like this always happens. Grow up and don't get so offended and then get nasty when someone calls you on it.

Mods, please close this thread. It's just not worth the headaches and childishness just to talk about a few pistols!

I might add, I've got several Sigs. I think very highly of them. If I were going to do what you want to do, I would get the P226 and a P239. Both in the same caliber, either DAK or traditional DA/SA but, the same for both. I think that would make a dandy package.

No, but it does show me that you're not reading the responses you asked to receive.

I don't get upset over Internet threads.

I do refer you to my response above.
