I was looking through the EE handgun ads over at arfcom and ran across these gems. I do not know the seller nor have any affiliation with him, I just thought some of the folks here might find these beauties interesting.

As the owner of 3" S&W 64-3 CYA marked revolver, I can attest that they make great CCW's.

Both Smiths appear to be in great condition; I especially like the Model 10 version. Thanks to the heads-up.

Those prices seem high to me. After shipping and FFL you could be paying $600 for a k-frame with no box or anything. 3" or otherwise, that's a big pill to swallow.

If you haven't been paying much attention to the market in the past few years, the days of the cheap, pre-lock S&W K-Frame are over. The 3" models in particular are highly sought after. The $600 price point is in line with the current marketplace. Those two look like some nice, clean specimens, which will help them move.

To put another spin on things, I wouldn't sell my pre-lock 3" 65 nor my pre-lock 3.25" 66 for only $600, that's for sure. How easy or cheap will it be to replace them? That's the kicker...

I remember when everyone used to suggest a used S&W revolver for someone who was new to firearms and wanted a handgun. It's kinda hard to make that recommendation these days now that those old guns have become so desireable.

You might be right about 3" k-frames, but I've bought a bunch of 4" k frames (66's, 19's, 10's, 15's) and the only ones I've even paid around $500 for were two 66 no dash. All of my purchases have been local though, so it could just be that regionally I'm in a soft market for revolvers.

For reference, around July I bought a 4" model 10 in great shape for $325. That wasn't private party. It was at a large local gun store.

I think those prices are within the range of reasonable for those who are really in the market.

I picked up an Australian police surplus 3" model 10 earlier this from Bud's Gun Shop for $299. You really have to act fast with 3" guns 'cause they go fast, but they can found at lower prices.

On the other hand, my gun may not be in as good cosmetic condition as the guns on the AR site. Thanks for the link. I always like looking at old Smiths for sale.
