I REALLY wish CZ would make a "thin Rami".

I have had a hard time with finding a CCW gun. I've had several different guns and none of them have been what I really want.

I THOUGHT the new Remington R51 was going to be the one, but after seeing one at the gunshow today, that one is out as well. I've had Kahr, XDs, Shield, 938, etc. . . . . and each one lacks in one area or another.

I wish CZ would just come out with a thin Rami sized gun. I was at my local gunshop, after the gunshow, and others would LOVE to see a "thin Rami" come out. And until they do, I doubt I will find anything that I will TRULY love. As it is, . . . I'm going to stick it out with the Shield, even though I don't really care for the striker fire trigger.

I know this subject has been brought up before, but I didn't want to resurrect any zombies.

What didn't you like about the 938? Just curious as I too was looking at getting a Remington 51 and from hearing several complaints about it have checked it off the list.

ky, . . . . I would prefer not having to remember a thumb safety in a tense situation. Yes, . . . . train with what you have, . . . but I'd rather pull out a gun and have a long DA pull first, then nice SA pulls after.

viking, . . . I think it would have to go, from top to bottom:

Shield
XDs
SA EMP [forgot to mention that one]
Kahr
938

All of them had strong points. All of them have weak points [in my opinion]. I like my other CZ products, . . . . and a "thin Rami" would be my choice, without question.

A thin CZ would be the choice.

But since it is not, I too picked up a Shield awhile back. It's growing on me.....

I understand. I had a Ruger LC9 and got rid of it because of the three inch trigger travel. I did look at the 938 the day I bought my LC9 and it felt really good in my hands.

The 938 really is a nice gun. My "rankings" above are very close to each other. None of them are really what I wanted. The Shield was just a bit easier to control.

You have a problem carrying a full sized pistol? If not the cz pcr might be a good option. I carry a cz 75b and I found it no harder to carry than a 1911 but make easier than a glock 17 due to thickness.

I think a single stack Rami would sell better for a CCW than the current double stack, which to me is too wide.

Thompsoncustom, yes, I have an issue with carrying a full size, double stack [or equivilently wide] gun. Thinner guns [less than an inch] AND guns with shorter grips work best for me.

It isn't perfect, but the Kimber Solo is a VERY nice feeling gun. I just prefer DA/SA over most other options. There is a new Solo with wood grips, front and rear serations, night sights, and an all black finish that I REALLY liked [at the gunshow], but I can't afford a $900 [before taxes] handgun.
