and wondered if anyone knew much about them? Their site isn't the most attractively designed and their Operator grips look decidedly uncomfortable but their Ranger grips look pretty nice. Hoping someone might have more info on them.

Never heard of them, but their prices are attractive. Those Rangers do look pretty nice. Any idea what they're made of?
I found a post on the 1911 forum saying it's a "polymer" that's quite resistant to the usual gun oils used for cleaning. Twice I've seen people complaining about the fit of the grips due to the design of the grip holes being a bit closer together than milspec so they don't rattle if a screw comes loose and one of the makers telling people to force it in.

Any time something represents itself as having been 'tested' or any other thing by 'the military', I start having a harder time taking them seriously.

Good morning gents,

My name is Mike Sharpe and I am the owner of SkinGripz. I came upon this discussion while searching the net on my company, and wanted to touch base as a single unhappy customer concerns me greatly.

Who we are- We are a disabled veteran owned company, and I employ three other disabled veterans. All our grips are made by hand by us with the most industrial of tools being a drill press and a belt sander. No CNC or the like here.

We do make our grips about .5-1.0 mm tighter than spec. This is to keep a slight tension on the bushings to avoid unwanted rattle when a grip screw loosens (and they will). Since the majority of our customers are concealed carry holders, it has been a favorable design by most.

I am aware of the single customer that this discussion has focused on. They were not told "To force it on". They were told the grips are designed slightly tighter, but should "Just pop on". I wont argue semantics here, but the difference in language is a large one in my opinion.

When we could see this customer was not going to be satisfied, we issued a full refund immediately as per our policy. We even told him he was welcome to keep the grips as our way of saying sorry. He posted he returned the grips to us, but alas, he never did...

We have sold thousands of sets over the last 7 years. Having said that, of course there will be a few that simply cannot be made happy. In that instance, a full refund has been made, and the customer was treated with respect, consideration and in the most professional manner. We have a 100% customer satisfaction policy, even though it has led some to abuse it for free grips in the past.

We are Ebay Top Sellers for 7 years now, with a 100% positive feedback rating, as well as certified Amazon sellers with a 100% positive rating. We will bend over backwards and jump through hoops for our customers.

As for being military and police tested, that is a 100% true and accurate statement. We have donated 122 sets of grips to our military and local LEO's this year alone. We give them to them as they risk their lives everyday for our safety and they certainly deserve the small thank you we are able to provide. We talk with the guys after they have carried them for awhile to solicit their opinions and help us decide if the design is good as-is or needs modification. We also donate a percentage of our sales to The Wounded Warrior Project as well.

I am not trying to sell anyone reading this a set of grips, but am simply commenting on a subject that we are likely the most concerned party on, and trying to provide an accurate account of who we are, what we stand for, and what a customer could expect from us.

I sincerely hope this post finds you all well and safe.

Regards,

Mike Sharpe
