My heartfelt condolences to you and yours for losing your son, Elijah. He is too young to die for sure and a very handsome young man. My family and I thank him for his service to this country and for helping make this world safer for all of us. Elijah and you and yours will be in our prayers tonight. If you need anything we can be of help with, please do not hesitate to pm me.

To those here that served, thank you too for your service and keep safe.

P.S. In a movie called "A Visitor For Christmas" the father of a fallen soldier said to his "visitor" -- We gave them our son, and they gave us 'stuffs' . Actually, the "visitor" was their son who came to help them let go of their grief for losing their son.

My condolences to you and your family. We will honor him at our table tonight and in our hearts....forever.

My heart just dropped down into my stomach when I read this. I'm so very sorry.

To paraphrase General Patton

Though we mourn the men who died, we should even more thank God that such men lived.

Thank-you so much for sharing your loss in this public forum. As a father of two young boys I can only imagine what you going through to lose such a bright young man. I hope you find some comfort in people’s contribution here.

My sincere regrets and deep felt sympathy

May he rest in peace, and may you take some comfort in the knowledge that he sacrificed his life in the noble service of this nation and its people. Every time we salute a flag, we salute his memory and his efforts on our behalf.

Deepest condolences for you and your family's loss.

Thanks for the service he gave his country, and the son you gave your country.

There are no words that I or anyone else can say to ease your pain at a time like this. But please know that your son and your family are in my prayers.

May your pain be eased by memories of happier times. You are in my prayers.

Nothing I can say can ease the pain your family feels right now. I feel it as well, we are losing the best of our generation. I do pray daily for the safety of all our people, both overseas and here. And daily thank God and all the Saints there are still men and women willing to put their very lives on the line for our freedom. The loss of your son makes the country a great deal poorer. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:3

That is how I feel about anyone willing to put thier life on the line in another country so that I can life my life the way I see fit. I pray that God will watch over your family.

As a retired Sergeant First Class, I extend my heart felt condolences. I've lost a few freinds there myself & though no words can ease your pain, know that your son was a true hero & that we all appreciate his service.
