I saw this and had to laugh

I was thinking the same thing, but dont worry, they have a beautiful illustration to back this up:

Apparently, someone sitting in the center of Washington DC with a .50 cal could take out ANY target ANYWHERE in the city. Just look at the map! Also note that the closer out to 4 miles your target is, the less accurate your aim needs to be!

While there is no evidence that the .50 caliber sniper rifle was designed for recreational use, its manufacturers have often labeled it as a sporting rifle to legitimize their sale of this deadly weapon

Fortunately for us, the Second Amendment doesn't exist, merely to protect our right to recreational shooting. Therefore, firearms manufacturers don't need to "legitimize" their products by labeling them " sporting rifles".

I love that kit. Looks like something I put together in about 1947 to "make" a Little Boy style gun-type atomic bomb from illustrations in Popular Mechanics. What an imagination kids have!

Two "subcritical" rocks, one at each end, "fired" at each other by lumps of dirt as the 'splosives.

Hunk of rain gutter for the "casing."

Clotheshanger wires for the proximity fuse antenna.

(It wasn't until thirty years later when I got into antenna theory that I understood and appreciated the Yagi antenna for the proximity fuse --as shown below.)

Who wants to email them to find out where you can get this $30 .50BMG rifle? I wonder what their response could possibly be.

Dope

Since they hold an FFL01, ask if they'll do the transfer for you, too!

"Since they hold an FFL01, ask if they'll do the transfer for you, too!"

That's a low blow, jrfoxx. Hilarious!

I just emailed them, asking them to tell me exactly what website was selling a .50 BMG "sniper rifle" for 29.95, I told them I was having trouble finding one for even 10 times the price. Listed my name as 'Johnny Gunslinger'. :neener:

Every time I think Sarah Brady can't say something more mind numbingly stupid she opens her mouth and raises the bar! In the words of Ron White, "you can't fix stupid".

You may also note that on the map, East is up, which is odd.

I'm trying to imagine even a .50BMG being used out to four miles. Indirect fire?

According, to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the .50 caliber sniper rifle has a dangerous history of criminal misuse. This can only worsen as the weapon becomes cheaper and more readily available.

The BATFE should know a lot about the dangerous criminal misuses of firearms.:scrutiny:

OMG! Thanks for the laugh. that Birdman thing is probably the funniest thing in existence along with the mall ninja saga.

And yes, we could definitely use this as an opportunity to show people just how stupid Brady is.

I thought that was Josh Sugarmann at the VPC? Or do Brady and VCP share office space?

Oops, I think your right. I was thinking he was a Brady person. Sorry, I cant keep them all straight sometimes, as they all act the same, and say the same stupid lies, etc, so it's easy to get confused. The 2 groups are virtually indistinguishable.

Guess you'll have to do the transfer through VPC. Brady should be able to give you his contact info for the transfer when you talk to them though, since I'm sure they are close, and work together and such.:D

Yes where is the NRA on this one. What a good way to show the country just what idiots and liars the Brady Bunch is. Not only them but the ATF. Lets rub there faces in it.

Couldn't any weapon be deadly in the wrong hands? I know people have been killed with pencils and screwdrivers. Let's get rid of them too.

This just goes to show how arrogant they are. They don't even bother to research their claims because they assume people will buy their BS without thinking about it. Even someone who knows nothing about guns knows you can't buy anything for $30.

The NRA really needs to pounce on this.
