I scratched the frame on my new Springfield 1911

Shoot, that's not an idiot mark...if you want to see an idiot mark, you should see my SA Loaded Champion grip frame. I totally messed it up removing the grip bushings to replace them with slim bushings for my slim grips. I had no idea what I was doing at the time, and now I have a couple of serious gouges in the frame. Fortunately they are (for the most part) covered by the grips, but they don't really affect carryability/shootability, I just know they're there and they bug the hell out of me... Not quite sure what to do to to remove them, but I figure I'll wait until usage marks up the rest of it and then maybe decide to get it refinished...

Then there's the obligatory Browning Hi-Power idiot mark when removing the trigger axis pin.

With mine, it was a "WHY THE *&%$ WON'T THIS BUDGE!?" mark. Still never got it out, I just gave up and it being marred probably didn't help.

LOL! I think any time a hammer and punch/nail set are involved, the greater the chance for a slip up.
