I should have listened

My first BB gun was an old Daisy lever cocked rifle an uncle gave me. It killed numerous things, from crawdads while wading in ankle deep creeks to squirrel and rabbit. Headshots of these furry critters from across the back yard was almost always fatal first shot.

Looking at the selections Benjamin Airguns has available today, all I can think is "HOLY COW!"

This, closely followed by "STOP THAT! I'VE ALREADY GOT ENOUGH ON MY BUCKET LIST!"

I found rimfire to be more inexpensive.
GSG 1911 22LR (Same as Sig 1911 22LR) provides good training for 1911 platform even using cheapest Armscor ammunition producing around 2" groups at 25 yards - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-shipped-pricing.902560/page-14#post-12720153

These days, I prefer Advantage Arms 22LR slide kit for my Glock 22 as I can train with the same trigger as my defensive pistol, particularly for fast point shooting drills that eat up a lot of ammunition. When switched back to 9mm/40S&W, I find the POI pretty much on POA.

Somethingbenign, I reckon I'm the weird one. The last thing I want is a pellet pistol that is such a faithful replica of a real gun that a police office would assume it is the real thing.

I find barrel cocking spring rifles a challenge to shoot well, Spring pistols aren't near as bad and do offer enough power to be useful.

You just need to decide if you want the best rat killing machine or a faithful copy of your every day carry weapon.

To put a time frame on this, I bought mine when they first hit the marked, even before SIG started with their version. I do like it quite a bit, and it took my safety that was on the "real" 1911.

Only issue I have with it is it likes to be clean. Keep it squeaky clean and it runs just fine.

Here is a hint, don't point anything at a cop, it usually does not go well for everyone.

They are a great tool for practice, and I still run that gas hog of a 1911 in the basement on cold winter days.

Any form of air gun is a gun, same rules apply. I just can't follow your logic.

In my state air guns aren't considered a firearm. As long as the pellet doesn't leave my property I can shoot one in my backyard.

Check your city as well. In Kansas city they are no different from a 50bmg.

Just make sure you know and that you don't think you know. And if you are shooting in town I would have a copy of that with you....in the open, taped to your forehead if you get my drift.
