if he decides to run. Why? He is the liberal Democrats worst nightmare. In any state where he is on the ballot he will cost the democratic candidate votes. I maintain he put Bush in the White House in 2000. It wasn't the recounts, hanging chads, or even the Supreme Court but rather the 90,000 votes cast for Nader in Florida. The most conservative estimate I heard at the time was that 2/3 of the Nader votes would have gone to Gore. I believe that estimate to be at least 10% to low. Still, even using the 2/3 estimate it cost Gore 30,000 votes. Nader wasn't on the ballots of very many states but I thank God Florida gave him a spot. I'm not very excited about any of the LIKELY Republicans gaining the nomination. Ron Paul would be great but I see his chances of getting the nomination as very, very slim. That said, I'm terrified, sickened to the gut, of any of the likely demo candidates winning the election. By the way, I think John Edwards is going to be their eventual choice and he's the most liberal puke of the bunch IMHO. Imagine the Supreme Court nominees we would be looking at. His picks would make Ginsberg look good. Lord help us...

So...you can question my sanity if you want but if Nader runs (and he's considering it according to recent news reports) my campaign contributions will go to him.

I can see your point about him possibly being a spoiler for the liberal vote bloc, as Ross Perot was for the conservatives back in '92.

I sure as heck don't want him to actually win, though:

Support Brady Bill & thoughtful gun control

Nader supports the Green Party Platform, which states:We support the ‘Brady Bill’ and thoughtful, carefully considered GUN CONTROL. Source: Green Party Platform, as ratified at the National Convention Jun 25, 2000
Supports trigger locks, licensing, & banning some guns

Some people are killed or injured with guns and some law-abiding people want to use guns for self-defense. How do you blend the two?
Make sure the weapons are designed safely with trigger locks.
Strong law enforcement so that they’re not falling into the hands of criminals.
Look at a weapon the way you look at a car. You’ve got to know how to handle it. You should be licensed.
There are certain weapons that should be banned.

as Ross Perot was for the conservatives back in '92.
And '96. He's not a viable candidate but as a third party he could be a spoiler for the Dems. Just like Bloomberg could be for the Repubs if he runs third party. although I think Nader would hurt the D's more than Bloomberg would hurt the R's.
