I think I cleaned my CZ 452 with the wrong rod.

I started cleaning my CZ 452's bore with a Universal field kit from pro-shot and found the cleaning rod is a very tight fit. I even found rifling marks on the rod. :what:

Did I break anything? I only made 5-6 passes. The bore feels very tight compared to my Beretta Neos.

I suspect that I need a .20cal cleaning rod or bore guide (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/189831/possum-hollow-bore-guide-92-cz-452-453-no-o-ring)and hope that the cleaning rod is much softer than the barrel.

I use a bore guide and a Dewey .17 cal coated rod in my 452 and Savage .223. Works great; I'd recommend for any .22 caliber bolt gun.

No, you didn't hurt anything, rifles aren't that delicate. The gun marked the rod, right? The rod was softer. I have a 452 .22 WMR and I use a .17 rod because the bore is tight.

Thank you for the advice. I will buy a bore guide and see if that helps. Otherwise, I will also need to get a .17 rod. Do .20 rods work? They don't need thread adapters.

On a closer inspection, I see where the rod hangs up on the ejector.
