For now.

My AR has gone through quite a few change lately, and I think I'm finally at the point where all major purchases have been made, and it's exactly how I want it. I saw a previous thread where someone did something similar, so if you'll indulge me, I'd like to do the same. Descriptions on top, pictures beneath (minus the stock original).

It started out as a stock Stag Arms Model 3, bought in December of 2011 for around $750. Great gun, and it served me quite well. It was accurate, reliable, and LOUD. Without question, it was the loudest AR-type rifle I'd heard, including my service rifle. I can't say I didn't enjoy it though.

After that, my first modification was a Magpul MOE stock, a Nikon P223 Carbine BDC, Magpul carbine length handguards, and a Grip Pod that I was issued for my last deployment. I enjoyed the accessories, but I started to feel like I just put them on there to have them, not to serve any real purpose. I don't care for fore grips, as I support the rifle by the magazine well. These accessories would soon change.

I swapped the fore grip for a Mako mag well grip, and absolutely love it. I experimented with the Nikon P223 600 BDC 3-9x40 (not pictured), but fell out of love with that too. I swapped the stock pistol grip for an over-molded Hogue (with battery storage inside). Finally, I tactically acquired an EOTech 552 from a friend, so that became my go-to optic for the rifle.

Following that, I decided I wanted a free float rail so that I'd eventually be able to add a magnifier to the EOTech for slightly more range. I had a friend who had a Troy upper receiver with an Alpha Rail (w/ flip up front sight and matching Troy flip up rear sight), so I swapped my upper with him, and gave him 100 rounds + the Nikon P223 (since I was going up in the quality of my upper receiver and barrel). I then bought the Magpul ACR stock for enhanced cheek weld, and it's as solid as can be.

Just today, I finally bought the G23 magnifier with quick-detach mounts to complete my rifle. A friend of mine had one he was trying to sell, so after much negotiating, I got him down to $300 for it, along with a few rounds of .308. Now I just need to find the time to go out and put some rounds downrange with it. :D

Author's note: I know picture quality isn't stellar. My digital camera went for a swim in the South Pacific on my honeymoon, so send your letters of complaint to Apple. :neener:
