A friend of mine gave me the name of a reloading supply outlet that he believed had several sizes of primers in stock and since I was only looking for 2 or 3 hundred small magnum pistol primers I use for only one hunting load, I gave them a call.
And sure enough they did have most sizes of primers in stock other than magnums and he said he was expecting more next week and after that he expected no more primers at all. Period. So I inquired about the price and was told all sizes and brands were 50.00/thousand and told me I had better "grab" a few thousand because next year he expected no primers to be avialable at all! When I inquired as to what the problem would be he ask me if I had heard of the new "Czar". I said I hadn't, and then he asked if I had heard of Obama, to which I responded that yes, the name was familiar.
Well then he goes into some wacko dialog that the new Czar had been put in place by Obama to control and eventually eliminate the reloading of all ammunition completely! I told him that had to be craziest thing I had heard in years and went on to say I would bet him that within 6 months his shelves would likely be stocked with primers stamped "Made in China". Well to make a long story short he sounded a bit POed and assured me I would regrete not forking over $50.00 for any size or brand of primer and proceeded to hangup on me.
In the mean time I believe I'll wait for the arrival of the Czar and get by with the 3500 primers that I have acccumulated over the past 20 years or so and hope there are not too many characters like this dude running around loose.
