Oh, and btw, I went to your myspace page..you have an XD too? Xcellent! I love my XD-40 service! Fun as hell! Carry on, Sgt!
rodger sir! :D
did you see the xd with the m6? that is the first line of defense that i will use if i have to to get to the 870. btw did you watch the video on "myspace"?

Yes, I did

Indeed watch the video. On behalf of me, my wife and four children i thank you and those who gave all for their brave service in the defence of freedom.

As far as the m6, I see it now!:scrutiny: I haven't added anything to my XD as of yet, but when I do it will prolly get nite-sites first. My shotty is leaning against the wall next to my bed, so I would grab that first. If anyone should make the mistake of entering, they'd first have to answer to Gunner, a purebred German shepherd. 100_0071.gif His bark is as scary as his bite.:D

possum,

You really should put the barrel clamp back on- 'tis a bad idea to install a magazine extension without one.

Other than that, keep on BA/UU/R... you're on the right track.

Here's my 870, the only thing I've added is a shellholder on the stock and a lot of slugs and buckshot. The target was shot at 25 yards, as quickly as I could line up sights, with Remington Reduced Recoil Slugs:

Here's my other super-fancy-tacticool defensive tool, a 4" S&W K-frame, this target fired at 15 yards as quickly as I could line the sights up:

Thanks Possum.

I used to own/shoot glocks and Aks, but I realized that I wasn't all that good with them, and I honestly hated having to stock up on magazines and worry about malfunctions (from magazines and ammo, the guns themselves were very reliable). So I switched from Glocks and AKs to K-frames and 870s. I like to pick a weapon system, learn it, then stick with it. I now have a pair of 870s (one Wingmaster, one Police Magnum) and four 4" S&W K-frames (backed up by a pair of J-frames for pocket carry). I'm really happy with my collection/battery. Oh, and I don't have any magazines in the house :)

Shoot what works, don't worry if its cool or not :p

lead head, yep they are like the ar's of shotguns, anything you can think of they have or can be had for em!

^

But, like ARs, most people overdo it and end up with overweight bulky guns that they can't shoot very well, becuse the spent their money on electronics and whatnot instead of ammunition and training!

Don't fall for all the hype

I'm recently retired but this past year I had to get qualified on the new Remington 870 Modular Combat Shotgun. Just like your gun it had all those ergonomically unfriendly pistol grips and a stepped forend. I don't think the military put a whole lot of thought into this when they came up with these changes to the 870. Most of the ammunition these things are going to fire is going to be 00 Buckshot. Firing a large amount of this stuff through this shotgun in this congiguration is going to put bloody knuckles on you support hand and blisters on you firing hand. They should have stuck with the standard style stock set for this shotgun. The ghost ring sights and the picatinny rail system were a good idea though.

I de-tacticalled my 870 recently also. It had the dual pistol grips, no stock and was a general PITA to shoot. I ended up yanking it all off and went back to the way it came, with wood furniture. I then decided I really wanted a light on it as a HD gun but didn't want to go with a clamp-on. Finally bit the bullet and bought a surefire forend (which cost as much as the gun did originally :( ) and a factory synthetic stock (just so it would match the foreend). The LOP is a little long so I'm keeping my eye out for a synthetic youth stock but I like the strictly utilitarian feel of the gun now. A lot more fun to shoot too. I'll try to get a pic up this weekend.
