I wish all Governors were this straight forward about the 2nd amendment

Bill Kaplin, a constitutional law professor at Stetson University College of Law, said the governor is on firm ground, even if he may be stretching two recent court cases -- in Washington, D.C., in 2008 and in Chicago in 2010 -- further than necessary.

"It's not like they made some blanket pronouncement that citizens can run around carrying guns whenever they want to," Kaplin said.

Gee, Mr. Hotshot "constitutional law professor" Kaplin, I thought that was the way it was for well over a hundred years. (Tongue in cheek remark. However, I'm glad to see that you're otherwise in general agreement with the Governor.)

(Governor) Scott said he is confident law enforcement on hand for the RNC will be able to protect Tampa's citizens and visitors without "the need to resort to sweeping infringements on our most sacred constitutional traditions."

Way to go, Guv.

What I'm suspicious of is that somewhere, some leftist anti-gun crackpot is planning to provoke or cause an incident that all the "banners" can point to and say, "See, we told you so!"

Evidently, Stetson makes much better hats than they do constitutional law professors.

Somebody point Mr. Bill to the Second Amendment please...
