Anyone know of ANY retailer that offers 150 gr FN jacketed .308 bullets in bulk ?

Between stocking my own reserves, and tending to those of F+F who like the load I found.... I'm consuming more and more of them every month.

I don't particularly mind buying them 100 at a time, but the usage finally justifies buying them 1k or so at a time.... and was wondering if anybody knew of some hidden miracles.

I don't know anyone who sells them by the 1k but I do know that TJConevera does free shipping after $50.00.

( Wasn't it $45.00 before?

Not exactly a FN, but I have gotten the Remington CL 150gr RN for 30-30 in a 500 and 1K box from Midway.

They shoot very well in my 30-30AI Contender, .308, and some 03-A3 reduced loads.

You might try emailing the regular bullet makers like Hornaday, Speer etc. and asking them if you could make a discounted bulk purchase directly from them. Also I have had good luck buying larger quantities of blemished bullets direct from manufacturers in the past. The only thing is this could be hit or miss depending on available supply. Small dings/dents or stains do not cause those blems to be inaccurate in any way at least in my firearms. I try to be creative in the ways that I save when reloading and it really helps to think outside the box.:D

Outside the 100 ct box, that is.....rofl.

Was kinda intimidated to try and ask something like that.....so silly.... I have no idea why.

I'm not sure what you mean by retailer? Are you asking about a local store or are you willing to buy online? If it's the later Widener's sells surplus and commercial .308 bullets in bulk. They have Nosler bullets in 1000 round count boxes.

If you meant locally, sorry, I don't know of any retailer who sells bulk .308 bullets except for maybe Cabela's.

@ arch :

At this point, if he could give me a few cents less per round, I would buy them from satan himself.

I went through 350 of them last month, april is looking warmer

Last fall drained my stocks, and I only have about 200 of them loaded and ready to roll. I have many more in LFN, but the mrs. really likes the jacketed performance in the levers

I just got about 300 pieces of 1x brass in trade, and I'm eager to fill those soon too.

If she can nail down this kimber....it might lessen the need considerably.

In that case I can recommend Widener's, I've bought from then before and I am satisfied with their service. Their prices aren't bad either, especially if you buy surplus.

Thanks, Pas1... but I'm looking for bullets- not cartridges :)

Lots of folks lately ( as has been pointed out ) have decent deals on pointy bullets of every make and model. If I was reloading for .30-06 or .308 currently, I'd be in Heaven.

I'm personally not a fan of the RN designs, wife prefers the FN's too... Its really about the ogive for her and loading them into the tube....says the FN's are easier. I dont argue.

Have one buddy who said he'd go for that(RN), now that we are out of meat season...that might help a little.

I appreciate all the help though !

S2000 Sierra Bullets 30cal {.308} {30-30} 150gr FN box of 100 $21.50 OUT OF STOCK

That is a hoppin good price though...

I'm gonna get on that when they restock ! Thanks for the bump !

I am buying the Laser Cast .309 170 grain LFN 30-30 bullets in 500 lot boxes. They will work well if you do not try to push the bullets to full jacketed speeds. They are hard cast and work well up to mid jacketed speeds in my model 94's and micro grooved 336's. The last batch I bought was from Natchez IIRC but it has been a couple years as 1500 bullets last a bit in my 30-30's.:) I think that you will be pleased with them.

At the cost of 1/3 the price of jacketed I like that.:D
