I wonder why

I live in CA, but I'm a minor, so I can't buy all the guns I want anyways :p . I am glad that I got in to guns at a young age, before I have responsibilities or relationships that would tie me to California. I can now plan where I want to live, my college and my career and take into account my gun hobby.

ITS MY HOME AND I AM NOT LEAVING!!!!!!

all the liberal anti gun pukes moved here from everyone elses states and ruined it back in the 60's with their liberal ideals, they arent liberals anyway they are commies they are not the definition of liberals so why are they called liberals i am more liberal than they are. i am the free thinker dammit get out of my state!!!!

dammit get out of my state!!!!

thats a great statement, it made me laugh, but then I wondered where would you send them not to Colorado I hope. I have wondered if some day we will end up with 2 americas one for those more conservative and one for the communist/socialitst/progresives, but I suppose it would not be long before things were back to where we are now.

thanks for all the comments, I think those who said they choose to stay and fight for change make alot of sense and I can not fault any of you for the reasons you gave for staying.

you know, like they say over at Glocktalk, let's talk about what's good about california.

stay and fight

unless you cannot afford to buy into the local housing market

Why do I stay? Fair question.

First, what I do for a living is fundamentally high-tech electronics. So aside from lone dots in the wilderness I have to be be in the "thick of it" -- Silicon Valley, LA, San Diego and points in between for example. I've worked in the wilderness (see below) and you're locked into that job unless you move. I like living where I can hop to another "good" job without having to relocate. There are other "tech-belts" around the nation but only a handful. Arizona tempts me most!

Second, in the middle of winter take a good look at a national news weather chart. There's always a warm "finger" extending from Mexico up to mid-CA while the rest of the WHOLE NATION is 10 to 50 degrees F colder. Weather is a big deal. I worked for three years in central NY, near Syracuse, and lack of sunshine can drive you nuts. Not to mention being passed by snowmobiles on my way to and from work... And when I look at summers in Texas, Florida, and Arizona, for example, I'm glad we only get a few really hot days a year. Mind you, Needles CA gets some of the very highest temperatures in the nation but I'm not going to go live out there! If I want "real" weather I can drive to it (e.g. skiing within two hours' drive).

Third, I like civilization. Once in a blue moon I'll go see someone play at the Hollywood Bowl or another amplitheatre. I like being able to drive to a half-dozen large hobby shops. And so on.

Fourth, I ride a motorcycle and the roads in CA beat any other state hands-down. Other states have regions of interest (e.g. The Dragon) but in CA they're all over and mostly not broken up by severe weather (with nasty tar snakes).

Firearms are only one dimension of life.

what I wonder about is what keeps those of you who live in state that is unfriendly to gunowners and is probly more liberal than other states there?

I couldn't tell you. I moved from socialist Maryland back to the US State of Virginia specifically to get away from the Liberal-run Government there.

As bad as it was under Gov. Paris Glendenning, there was the very real prospect that a Kennedy was going to wind up in the Governor's mansion, i.e, Kathleen Kennedy-Townsend. To their credit the people of Maryland rejected not only her but another Kennedy who was running for Congress in Montgomery County Md.

The Liberals, i.e., the Democrats or far left Socialists, are still in control there however, and as always that means high crime, a living nightmare of traffic mismanagement, an erosion of basic services such as eduction and road repair combined with skyrocketing taxes, rampant corruption in government, severely unAmerican attitudes towards basic property rights, clearly abusive and unlawfull "policing" (e.g., gun confiscations and informant networks developed under Chief Moose), the presence of a very large and tax-intensive minority group of some kind or another and, if they're Blacks, then with the usual rampant anti-White racisim and shrill demands for my money by their politicians ("gimmie gimmie gimmie our reparations you White debils!"), and a thousand other points of darkness that characterize life under American socialism.

Western Maryland is great, unfortunately it's attached to the far-left socialist cesspool that the rest of the State has become.

I live here because i like having people who refuse to list their location tell me my opinion is invalid because i'm a californian.

seriously, though, the weather is nice here, and my entire universe is here.

That's why I"m proud to live in Wyoming. They don't care about emissions on my car and they don't give me problems about my guns.
