IBA groin protector test

The soft panels from IBA and IOTV armor are not technically NIJ rated but they are said to be approximately Level IIIA. We shot a .44 mag at the groin protector insert from IBA to find out if that's accurate.

Maybe it's just me, but, if I get shot in the groin with a .44 Magnum, I'm thinking I might be better off if it does penetrate.

Pretty sure the main purpose of that flap is to protect your femoral arteries, not your gender identification.

I don't know, surely a man would bleed out if the "main vein" is severed. Rather slowly compared to the femoral artery but still.

i have a iiia groin protector, i count on it to save my life, but i assume i'd be out of action for some minutes following a hit.
