I have a Ruger P90. Was thinkin bowie tactical sight,trigger job,crimson trace grips. Any other suggestions? It will be my first trigger job,that I will do myself. So any suggestions on that are welcome as well.

The P90 is a great gun. The only thing I changed on mine was the grip panels. I hate them. Replaced them with Hogue Extreme Aluminum checkered grips.

Ill have to look those grips up. Was going for crimson trace for the laser. P90's are great guns,but im a bigger fan of the P345. Basicly same gun just smaller. My P90 is stainless,and just going for a home defense gun

A stronger recoil spring does wonders for controllability in the Ruger P90. IME they come from the factory with an 11 pound spring, when the factory 1911 spring weight is 16 pounds. When I first shot mine the empty hulls were being thrown 15-20 feet away, and per the Wolff Springs website 6-8 feet is ideal. I put in a 14 pound Wolff recoil spring and it has much reduced felt recoil and much faster follow up shots.

When looking for cool Ruger P90's, it's hard not to run across THR forum member P97's, customized P90. Here is a thread with a picture of his engraved P90 with Hogue wrap around rubber grips. If you search enough you'll find the same pistol with rosewood and stag grips, I just couldn't find the stag grip picture in my quick search.

I don't know your gun smithing skills, but a trigger job on a P90 doesn't seem like something I'd start with. I know my own skills, and I know I'd send it off to a pro for a trigger job.

While I own neither, I like both, but the two pistols are only really close in that they both say Ruger on the slide, are both chambered in .45ACP, and both use the same magazines. Otherwise, they are very different pistols.

For what purpose are you wanting to gear it towards? Competition? Carry? Home defense?

My SS KP90 has Trijicon sights & pretty much the same Hogue finger grooves everybody else has. Had the trigger worked on but it's still nothing spectacular. Shooting it has probably smoothed it out as much as anything.
While I don't "get" people who think it's "ugly" and I admire it's rugged utilitarian lines, it's no beauty queen. It's primary duty is HD and I sleep well with it at bedside. IMO it's a very underrated pistol.
I have been considering a nice pair of checkered walnut grips though. They look pretty nice on the stainless gun.

And the P345 has a cam-block while the P90 has a barrel link like the 1911. That is a pretty big difference.
The P95, P97, and P345 all have the same cam-block.

P345 is stainless just like my P90. Polymer!? Dont know why its in the rifle section. Thought it was handgun discussion. And I said it was for home defense. Maybe read down farthet before commenting. Thanks all

For clarity, and for others that may be interested in these two pistols, the slides and barrels of these two pistols may be stainless steel, but the Ruger P90 has an aluminum frame, while the Ruger P345 has a polymer frame.
Usually, the frame material is the reference point when talking about what a gun is made of. For example, Glock 17, polymer frame; Sig P226, aluminum alloy frame; CZ 75B, steel frame. All have steel slides and barrels.

My P90 was originally a blued, manual safety model. I picked a complete, stainless, decocker top end (and most of the frame parts) very cheaply on an auction sight. I bead blasted the slide and added Meprolight sights to it. I used the stainless slide stop in my frame. I've also swapped the trigger for a slightly modified P95 trigger and added some Uncle Mike's grips (might swap them for some checkered G10, Houge grips).
