Model 15-3 Gold parts, I am not sure why the trigger, hammer and cylinder release are gold plated. Is this production or custom? Also is the finish original? This gun has been in the family, I believe since the mid 70s. If this is the wrong place or it has already been answered elsewhere, I apologize. I am still learning my way around here.

It looks like your revolver left the factory in 1970. As for the gold parts, I can't find anything in my reference material about that. Sorry I can't help with the gold parts but they were probably plated after the revolver left S&W.

f) S/N AYT43XX
g) Model 63
No dash. The barrel is also not pinned.
None of this is adding up. All the M63s have an M serial number according to my reference material. The M63 no dash ran from 1977 to 1982 where they deleted the pinned barrel and marked them M63-1. I don't know how your revolver can be a no dash without a pinned barrel? The serial number doesn't fit either.

I suggest you write S&W with the serial number and the sku # if you have it. They will tell you if that revolver was part of a special run which wouldn't necessarily be in the books. I have a M640 I could not find info on and was told it was a special run for AcuSport.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I can't seem to find that serial number sequence for the production M629-2 revolvers. My approximation would be 1988 since that is the only year the -2 variant was produced. Even though I usually like to see it in the books.

Your M 10 dates to late 1972 to early 1973. You are lucky to have an early snub nose Model 10, very cool.

I see you registered with the forum just to ask about these two guns. Welcome to the forum and I hope you will stick around and contribute instead of a hit and run information trip. This is a great place with equally great people. Again, welcome to THR.

Thanks
Unfortunately none of my sources are very specific. Here is what I have:

K-22 Outdoorsman
1931-1940 632132-682419

It's just a guess but I would say late 1931 to early 1932 but there is no way to know how many were manufactured each year and rarely are the year's production equal. IMO most likely 1932.

Thanks That is all I could fin in the Supica and Nahas Standard catalog.
For future reference I found some Serial numbers and ship dates based upon a search on the S&W Collectors forum for K22 Outdoorsman Roy Jinks Letters from S&W.
